Experience Dr. Evelyn Mweta Richard who is married with one daughter has been a Faculty member (an academic staff) in the field of Finance and Business Management at the University of Dar es Salaam Business School (UDBS) of the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) since September, 2000. Evelyn’s core competencies are in finance and business management. She teaches both PG & UG programmes. Evelyn is currently the Head of Department of Finance, UDBS (since July, 2015). Prior to holding the current position Dr. Evelyn was the Manager responsible for Planning, Finance and Investment for the School (UDBS) the position that she held for 10 years since 2006. She participated in designing and managing donor funded projectss like BSPS III Dr. Evelyn is a seasoned trainer and facilitator in her area of expertise. Specifically, she is a trainer in areas related to financial and investment management, project management, risk management and entrepreneurship. Dr Evelyn Richard has researched and published conference and journal papers both singly and jointly with other professionals. She has also conducted a number of consultancies for the government as well as for the private sector and Donor organizations. Dr. Evelyn also serves as a Board Member of Tanzania Newspapers Standard (TSN) and is a chairperson for some committees of the same Board (Finance committee and Editorial committee). She is also a member of UDBS Board. Dr. Evelyn is also the Deputy project leader for the TANAIM (Tanzania Agricultural Investment Mapping) project since 2013. This is a project that aims at improving the information and close the knowledge gap within the agricultural sector in Tanzania in order to improve the coordination and partnership mechanisms between relevant stakeholders including the government and donor organizations. Experience Dr. Esther Ishengoma joined the University of Dar es Salaam as an academic staff in 1999. After her PhD studies she served as an Associate Dean in charge of Research and Publications and then she was appointed the Head of the Department of Finance for the 2012 – 2015 trienium). Currently she is Associate Dean of the University of Dar es Salaam Business School. She is currently a Principal investigator of the project on
global financial linkages, MFIs sustainability and poverty reduction, funded by the Volkswagen Foundation. She has also participated in various research programmes funded by Sida-SAREC, Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, REPOA and KAAD. She has consulted number of local and international organizations including DAWASCO, MCATanzania, USAID. She has served as Head of Department of Finance, Dean of the University of Dar es Salaam Business School and Director of Public Services of the University of Dar es Salaam. She has served in various Boards including the Tanzania Revenues Authority, TANAPA, Presidential Trust Fund, NBC/ABSA, Mkombozi Bank, NDC, CHC, ESRF, BEST-AC/D. ESRF etc. She had also served in international organizations inlcuding the International Monetary Fund, Advisory Group of the Sub-Saharan Africa, World Bank Advisory Group in Tanzania, the Association of African Business Schools and Operations Societ of Eatern Africa. Currently she leads the Tanzania Agricultural Investment Mapping (TANAIM) project at the Unviersity of Dar es Salaam Business School. Position: Senior Lecturer, Department of Finance, University of Dar es Salaam Business School. Experience Dr Mutahyoba Baisi is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Finance at the University of Dar es Salaam Business School (formerly the Faculty of Commerce and Management of the University of Dar es Salaam). He has worked for the University of Dar es Salaam since 1982 when he graduated with a B.Com (Finance) honors. Dr Baisi has more than thirty years experience in teaching, consultancy and research in the areas of Corporate Finance, Investment Analysis, Accounting, Small Business Finance, Business Planning, Entrepreneurship development, and project monitoring and evaluation. During his time at the University Dr Baisi has held various positions including being Head of Department, Head of the Short courses section and Coordinator of Poatgraduate Programmes. He has supervised more than eighty MBA Projects and Dissertations and three PhD dissertations, and has been contracted as a consultant by local and international firms including EC and United Nations organizations. Experience Dr Ellinami Minja is a Senior Lecturer in Finance and Economics in the Department of Finance, University of Dar es Salaam Business School. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics (with specializations in Monetary Economics, International Economics and Financial Economics) from Oklahoma State University – USA; a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from University of Nairobi, Kenya and a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Dr. Minja’s special expertise and strengths are in financial markets/investments and corporate finance. These are blended with macro economic analysis with particular focus on money and the economy. With more than 20 years of experience in academics, he has done a number of researches, consultancies and published in his areas of speciality and actively participates in conferences and workshops. Currently, his areas of research interest are in financial economics & modelling, financial markets, investments, and monetary economics.
