Welcome We understand how essential it is to bring Dementia Support services together to encourage living well for people with dementia, their carers, friends and families. This Autumn, we are launching a pilot programme of services and we hope you will join us at one of our dementia-friendly events. Our fundraising team are working non-stop to raise the funds for the development of our state-of-the-art Dementia Hub, in Tangmere, which will be fully open in December 2017. Our multi-purpose centre will enable us to support over 5,000 people encouraging them to live well with dementia and live at home for as long as possible. The hub is currently offering a basic level of services including; Memory Assessment

Clinics, Dementia Friends Sessions, Alive Activities and a number of social events. We will offer a complete range of services and support from December 2017, once the refurbishment has been completed. With the help of our Chairman, board of trustees and event sponsors, we recently hosted a Chefology evening to officially launch our £4.65m Fundraising Appeal. We are delighted by the support of those who have already pledged to help us provide essential dementia services and support in West Sussex. Now that our Fundraising Appeal is fully underway, we hope that you too will be part of this exciting, much-needed community centre and help create a friendly, purposeful and positive place for people living with dementia.

Hub Information As well as helping people living with dementia, supporting carers will be key to the services available at the Hub. We all know the essential contribution that carers bring to the lives of people living with dementia, therefore working with Carers Support is a collaboration we are very much looking forward to establishing as the project develops. Mary Hellyer, Carer Services Manager on behalf of Carers Support, commented; “Thank you for sharing the vision for the new dementia Hub at Tangmere. We really enjoyed our visits and are excited at the vision for the centre, bringing many partners together to offer joined up services for people with dementia and their carers, family and friends.” At Carers Support we see the challenges facing people with memory loss and their families as they progress to gain a diagnosis. We recognise the need for them to have access to the support they need as easily as possible in a friendly but normal environment. This distinctive project will offer a unique opportunity for a wide range of support to be provided to families and we are keen to be involved as the project develops.”

The Hub reception area now has a range of dementia-friendly literature available for visitors, as well as information about local dementia events in the area. If you would like to provide literature or details, please email [email protected] dementia-support.org.uk
