Greetings from our National President Dear DTC Sisters, I would like to take this opportunity to wish each and every one of you a very Happy and Healthy Holiday Season. At this time of year I would like for us to reflect on our purpose as displayed on the Delta Theta Chi website: Its purpose is to promote cultural education, to foster personal development and good citizenship, to form a nation-wide fellowship, to attain a broader outlook and enjoyment of contact with those of similar purposes and ideals. Please keep our “purpose” in mind as you move through the next few months until we all come together at National Convention. We have a lot to be thankful for each and every day however there are many sisters who are going through their own personal struggles whether it be some type of illness, death of a loved one, a dear sorority sister or close friend or some other personal situation. Sometimes a bright smile or a warm hug is just what someone needs to help make their day a little better. “Sisters” we will be there for one another! I wish you all the best in 2015 as we prepare for our National Convention at the Embassy Suites Kansas City International Airport June 26 th – 28th. I hope to see you all there! In Sisterly Love, Karen S. Kammer National President

From Our National Vice President Dear DTC Sisters Membership is always on our minds. Time flies so do not hesitate and ask the person you are thinking about. Since June 2013, we have added 34 new sisters, a new CA chapter and reinstated 2 sisters. We are growing but we have also lost sisters and chapters. It is up to each of us to share our Sisterhood and reach out. DTC has added so much to my life the last 41 years. I know it has to yours also so please share DTC. I hope you will keep the list of rush ideas I sent to each chapter and will be able to use them and add in your own ideas. Rush should be fun and we always enjoy sharing, eating and maybe even will receive a little education with it. Let's have lots of rush events this next year and grow our sisterhood. I have reached out to 28 ladies that have inquired about DTC on the website. This has been one of my favorite duties. We were able to sign one into MO Delta chapter. What a blessing. It is an honor to be your National Vice President. Thank you for this privilege. Share your Sisterhood and Hold High the Torch. And Always......Live, Laugh, Love and Grow in Sisterhood. In Sisterly Love, Becky Kueffer National Vice President

Alcyone Province Trustee

For Alcyone Province the year ended on a high note at the 78 th Province convention “Life is a Masquerade” where we initiated 10 new sisters. It has been my pleasure to work this past year with so many of my dedicated hard working sisters and our goal is to keep growing. As chairperson of the National Constitution and By-Laws Committee, I urge all members to read the constitution to make sure it reflects the best of Delta Theta Chi. If any chapter or sister would like to submit a revision, the deadline for changes is December 1, 2014. You can send the revisions to your province National Constitution and Bylaws Committee member or me. Just remember the deadline is December 1. Hopefully, you are busy making plans to attend the upcoming National Convention in Kansas City. I look forward to meeting my sisters from other provinces. To my sisters at this joyous season: May the wondrous Spirit of Christmas Fill Your Heart Today and Always. In Sisterly love, Joyce Miller, Alcyone Trustee

Celaeno Province Trustee I just returned from Fall Board meeting in Logansport, Indiana. The "Witch's Brew" theme was fantastic and it reminded me of bygone days in sorority when sisters really made an effort to decorate according to the theme and everyone was made to feel she was a part of the excitement. When I was Celaeno Province Vice President back in the 1970's,my goal was to get the Province's membership back up to 300 members. We had 13 chapters. This year we have 5 chapters( one is a special chapter) and 86 members. I long for the days when sorority was elegant and we weren't begging for people to take offices. I wish there was a magic wand we could wave and bring back Delta Theta Chi to the way it once was. Susan Yoder, Celaeno Province National Trustee

Electra Province Trustee Dear Delta Theta Chi Sisters: What an amazing year this has been. As you know where were able to fund 2 two deserving students in Alcyone Province with National Memorial Scholarships and 1 DTC family member from Electra Province with a Maria Miller Graham Scholarship. It was truly a privilege to getto inform these students of their awards. Now as the 2015 year ends we gear up for the 2015-2016 scholarship cycle. I hope you have good luck and receive lots of great applications. What is so great to hear from everyone is that we got so many good applications that it was hard to choose. That’s a good thing and I hope I hear a lot of you say that! As we approach the holiday season and the end of the year it seems to me a good time to reflect on the past year. I have been blessed to get to travel to see some of you in your home province or at your chapter Founders’ Day. Each and everyone one of you DTC sisters have been kind, supportive and welcoming to me. I cannot tell you how much that means to me. I look back fondly on memories of those sisters who have left us this year for their heavenly reward. They will be missed but their legacy brings us all joy. I hope 2015 brings you and your families, health, happiness and maybe even a little wealth! I look forward to visiting with many of you at the 2015 National Convention in Kansas City and to a sorority year filled with fun and lots of memory making. Happiest of Holidays to Everyone, Teresa L. Carter Electra Province National Trustee 3

Sterope Province Trustee I can’t believe that in a few short weeks it will be 2015. This year we have lost some great sisters, had chapters disband and even had chapters ask for special chapter status. The sisters that we have lost will always have a special place in our hearts . My new year wish for every chapter of Delta Theta Chi Sorority is that we work hard to Recruit new members. In January and each month after, take a good look at your friends, neighbors, co-workers, and family and ask your self if they would make a good addition to our sorority and if they have the qualities that we are needing then start to recruit them. In Sisterly love, Sharon Osterberger, Sterope Province

Taygeta Province Trustee My Dear DTC Sisters, What a great year Delta Theta Chi Sorority has had! We have a new chapter, CA Alpha, and several new sisters. As you all are aware, our membership is getting older. Many of our sisters can’t attend meetings because of age or poor health. This saddens me so much. That is a reason to start asking our younger friends to join this great organization to keep it going. Be creative in your Rush events to get the attention of those young women! Since I represent Taygeta Province, I would like to say how proud I am to be a small part of this group of wonderful and amazing sisters. We have lost a chapter, but we are initiating new sisters into Taygeta. We have such an outpouring of love for one another (I know the other provinces have the same thing). I ask that we all continue to support one another in bad health as well as good. Call, text, or email one another to show your love. Be a great support system in the great sisterhood of Delta Theta Chi Sorority! Hold High the Torch, Jane Harrell Taygeta Province Trustee

National Executive Secretary-Treasurer DID YOU KNOW??? How often do you open up the DTC Web Page and look at all the information that it contains? Do you look at forms? You should because two forms have been added. One is the two-page Remittance Form. You should never been in doubt any more about the cost of jewelry or how to submit a new member’s contract fee and dues. The other form is a template of the NEC approved DTC letterhead. Province Officers and Chapter Officers are encouraged to use this letterhead. And yes, an individual Sister may use the letterhead for sorority business. Another section you should be reviewing is your chapter members in the Members Only area. This section needs to be reviewed to determine that all information is still correct, including Sisters who may have resigned or Sisters that have changed contact information. And you never know what Chapter or Province is having a terrific fundraiser that you don't want to miss. So, make it a habit to open up the DTC Web Page at least 4

ALYCONE PROVINCE NEWS CA ALPHA (submitted by Anne Bishop)

It has been six months since CA Alpha officially became a chapter of DTC. We believe we are well on the road to rowing and working together to form a successful sisterhood. What’s it like to start a new chapter? It’s a roller coaster ride like no other you ever experienced. How would we describe it? Fun, exciting, frustrating, stressful, and at the end of the day, a fantastic feeling of accomplishment. Thank you to all the sisters who helped make it possible.

CA ETA California Eta's Post Pirate Production year was less hectic but still fun filled. Our educational program "Learn Something, Do Something" allowed us to not only learn a variety of new and interesting things, but it also let us work together to help out others. We enjoyed outings with our Eta Sisters and their families including the production of Les Miserables and our family picnic at the park. We look forward to another year of sisterhood.

CA IOTA (submitted by Susan Musselman) CA Iota is excited about hosting Convention 2015 and has started making plans. The theme is “Roaring 20s and All That Jazz”and will be October 23-25, 2015 atthe Doubletree by Hilton hotel in Orange, CA. Attached is a picture taken at this year’s convention of members Lydia and Lana selling Fireside Coffee to help Fund our convention. Only a few jars left Lydia Menchaca and Lana Duckett waiting for their next sale at Alcyone Province convention.

CA EPSILON (submitted by Car ol Ann Moyes) CA Epsilon is rolling along. Two new little sisters this year. Debbie Bryant and Peggy Sinclair. Both have the same big sister Kathy Vernon. We have a well-deserved special recognition badge to Connie Davis this year. Our own Debbie Doubledee is now our Province President. Our love to all our DTC Sisters.

Connie’s Special Recognition Badge didn’t arrive in time for the ceremony, so ever Resourceful CarolAnn Moyes provided her with a “drawing”of the badge.

CA SIGMA (submitted by Bobbi Meyer ) California Sigma is small but mighty. We meet with another smaller chapter (CA Zeta) on a pretty regular basis and we are both happy with that arrangement. We will be working together on some projects for 2017 National Convention. CA Sigma has been adopting a family from Family Services for the past several years. We are continuing to support the program this year by donating gift cards for the Thanksgiving and Christmas events.

CA OMICRON (submitted by Cher yl War d) California Omicron ended the sorority year in June 2014 following pledging and installation of officers for 2014-15. A successful garage sale fund raiser was held in May. During the summer, pledge training was held for two pledges who will attend their first convention in Pasadena, October 2014. Omicron sisters attended the Del Mar Races and high tea at the Shakespeare Pub for summer social events. CA Alpha joined us at the Races. Committee meetings were held during the summer to plan our educational, philanthropic, ways and means, and social events for the coming year. Our first meeting of the 2014-15 year was held September 3rd, and we are off to a great new year. California Omicron wishes all our Delta Theta Chi sisters a great new year too.

WA ALPHA (submitted by Kr istine Dundas-Rankin) WA Alpha sponsored CA Alpha at the Spring Open Board. During the meeting our chapter also donated $150.00 for TACA. Even though our Chapter lost two members, Garie Anne Taylor & Anne Bishop to CA Alpha, we installed a new sister Mary Cox. In August we had two garage sales, we’ve collected a total of 1,003 box tops & we’ve read to our grandchildren. We’re still trying to recruit new members.

ELECTRA PROVINCE NEWS by Angie Hall KS Alpha We are preparing to pledge our newest member while we plan birthday and Christmas parties. There is a full agenda for us from learning about Origami Owls and whether Heaven Is For Real. We are going to a theatre play for a holiday treat and then next we are caroling to see our less mobile members (chili is planned as well). Did we mention a movie and pizza Saturday? There is so much to do when your heart is open and your spirit willing. Enjoy the holidays and each other until we meet again. Kansas Alpha Reporter– Kay Kimball -

We hosted a fabulous Electra Province Conclave October 3 rd thru the 5th. We are also helping prepare for the 2015 National Convention. It was wonderful to have the National Vice-President, Becky Kueffer, Taygeta Trustee, Jane Harrell and NEST, Christine Durbin in attendance. We are excited about this year’s educational programs which include guest speakers from several amazing local organizations. The chapter is planning several enigmatic rush and social activities this year to help spread the word about all the excitement of our sisterhood. Kansas Beta Reporter-Teresa Carter

We enjoyed a good party when Bess and Ralph Brewer (his 80 th birthday) hosted one at their new home after completing numerous DIY projects to make it “theirs”. In October, Sister Bonnie Priem and her son, Loren, flew to Charleston, SC to visit the Boone Hall Plantation. Their next stop was Savannah, GA where one of the highlights was to eat at Paula Deen’s restaurant. Because of line limitations, you will need to visit with Bonnie to get the particulars of their trip. It was a very history oriented trip. Sister Darlene Peck’s Mother celebrated her 101 st birthday October 16. Her granddaughter, Immy celebrated her 1st birthday (also mid-October) together with her great-grandmother. How wonderful to have the four generations celebrating together! Don’t miss our 55th Founder’s Day luncheon on November 22. KS Theta Reporter—Vicki Lignitz

We had our 10th annual Founder’s Day where we celebrated how to Live ‘In‐TIN‐tionally’ with your whole heart! We were extremely excited to have our daughter ceremony where we gave pins to Caelyn Moore, daughter of Candace Moore and Addison Gunselman, daughter of Maria Gunselman and granddaughter of Debby Gunselman. We have been busy working on buying our 4th sewing machine for Feed the Poor that gives sewing machines for women living in 3rd world countries so they can make clothes for their children to attend school. At Conclave we won the Achievement Contest with our awesome skit based off the Disney Musical "The Newsies" and placed 3rd in the History Book Contest. We also won the Participation Award this year which was completely unexpected. Kansas Kappa Reporter—Gail Allen

ELECTRA PROVINCE NEWS CONTINUED:

Missouri Delta We have been busy this past year setting up meetings to work with the Electra Province Chapters for the upcoming National Convention here in Kansas City, June 2015. After we attended Conclave in Wichita, Kansas, we travelled to Independence, Kansas to visit a fellow Sister from the Missouri Deltas. We will be finishing the year celebrating the Holidays with not only our families but our sisters as well. For Thanksgiving we are having a family-style, homemade dinner and at Christmas we are eating at the Webster House in downtown Kansas City. The Missouri Deltas look forward to what the New Year will bring us as we have a few new interests in joining our Chapter. Missouri Delta Reporter—Eileen Neeley

STEROPE PROVINCE NEWS by Fr ancie Bobo Ohio Mu Ohio Mu has made some changes in our meetings beginning in September. We are now holding all meetings at the Westwood Presbyterian Church in Hamilton. There are no steps and it is easier access for several of our members. This seems to be working out well. Starting time is 7:00 p.m., a half hour earlier. We will be having our December business meeting and Christmas party at Berkeley Square. We wish all our DTC sisters a wonderful Christmas and a blessed New Year. OH MU Reporter—Frances Bobo

TAYGETA PROVINCE NEWS by J J Batchellar OK Alpha “ Once a Sister always a Sister” is the heart of Delta Theta Chi, and Oklahoma Alpha Sisters are demonstrating that love. A former sister and daughter of long time and present member, Florence Swabb, had a major stroke four years ago and has never been able to return to her home. The Sisters of Oklahoma Alpha are conducting an estate sale of the entire contents of the home. It is hard work, time consuming, a labor of love, and a bonding time and fellowship for all sisters working together. Sisters of DTC are the best! We are planning and looking forward to hosting Province convention 2015 -“Take me back to Tulsa.” Thanks again to Oklahoma Delta for the wonderful 2014 Convention in Enid, Ok. OK Alpha Reporter- Dorothy Doll

OK Beta Oklahoma Beta Chapter is proud to announce the initiation of Becky Parra and Sandy Futrell into our beloved Sisterhood. Our Civic Projects continue to keep us busy: cutting out red felt stockings to be decorated and filled with goodies for our troops serving abroad; providing toiletry products for the Battered Women’s Shelter; sponsoring three seniors for the Salvation Army Silver Halo program; aiding a needy family for the holidays and making oncology dolls for Children’s Memorial Hospital. For our Literacy Projects, we manned phones for the OETA Literacy Telethon; provided books for the Midwest City and Hawthorne Elementary libraries; and continue to pick up, deliver, and read books for the Ready To Learn - 1st Book Program at Hawthorn Elementary. OK Beta Reporter- Phyllis Henderson

OK Delta OK Delta has continued to keep our hearts and minds on our community service since the province convention. We will be planning on giving to the YMCA Crisis Center at Christmas and hopefully having a tea in honor of our 75 th anniversary in January. We did appreciate so much all the “thank you’s” we received after and during the convention; it made all the work worthwhile. We want to let everyone know that Eula Huston will be having a triple bypass on October 30, so by the time this is in print we hope she is well recovered. OK Delta Reporter -Shirley West

OK Epsilon Some of our members have just returned from a great Taygeta Province Convention. We had a good rest, just in time to cook up 104 dozen enchiladas for our annual Ways and Means fundraiser. We are appreciative of other chapter members supporting us with their orders. We are enjoying the National Educational Outline, and continue our literacy endeavors. We look forward to the upcoming holidays, and wish all of you a whole bunch of blessings. To quote a greeting card, your Epsilon sisters would like to sign off saying..."through the years, we have traveled many roads with one another…we have shared the ups and downs life brings and been there for each other, and that's why today, we are making sure to say what's in our hearts...that within our world, you'll always play a special, treasured part." OK Epsilon Reporter -Effie Moerman-Ray

OK Kappa OK Kappa’s are trying to bring some Rest and Relaxation through sisterhood for our 2014-2015 year. One of our big activities before the fall weather came was paddle boarding on Lake Overholser. It not only was an educational but quite a workout. We plan to host a Breast Cancer Awareness meeting, “Review the Rack”. We will also make blankets for children who attend Camp Noah and fix a meal for the Ronald McDonald House. We initiated Caty Wahkinney at province convention along with four other women. We hope to refresh and restore our minds and spirits through the gift of sisterhood. Thanks for letting us participate in this wonderful organization. OK Kappa Reporter – JJ Batcheller 10

TX Beta TX Beta is off to a good start for planning the year and getting energized for lots of projects. We had 4 people attend province convention in Enid, OK. The chapter has ordered key chain flashlights and will be selling those. Other items like scarves, raffle items and snack packs may also be available. In order to support our yearly scholarship efforts for a local student, TX Beta will sell pecans again this year. One twist – the 60 pounds of pecans were obtained by a donation through our member June Butler! That means ALL PROFIT will benefit the scholarship fund! Great job June! I’m looking forward to getting my pecans and start baking now that the fall weather has finally arrived here in Texas! TX Beta Reporter-Carol George

TX Zeta (Zingers) Texas Zeta meets on the second Tuesday of each month for a meeting and program in the home of Neva Groves. It is a BYOD (Bring Your Own Dinner), and it works wonderfully. We appreciate our Neva allowing us to use her table for meetings and do not want to burden her with meals and snacks, so we bring our own. We also meet on the 4 th Sunday at 4:00 pm for a social and brief meeting, if necessary, in different homes and settings. We are excited to see one another and push forward with the Amazing Glorious Vibrant Life of Sisterhood. Just wanted to share how we managed our meetings. TX Zeta Reporter- Sheron Braden

TX Nu Texas Nu is trying to think outside the box with programs and socials like lunch at the South Plains Fair, touring the Pumpkin Trail at the Lubbock Arboretum, enjoying dessert at the Holley Hop Ice Cream Parlor, baking for the Holiday Extravaganza Meals on Wheels Benefit, and the Meals Mardi Gras Event in March. With excellent programs and guest speakers we will celebrate our 70th anniversary in November, a Christmas party in December, and rush activities. Summer socials included spouses with lots of good food at different locations. TX NU Reporter -Veronyka Vance
