Decerniss Regulatorry Reference e Database, gComply,, is a simple e to use web-based  substanc ce database e and librarry containin ng the full-ttext of regulations for over 180  countrie es and more e than 80,00 00 regulatio ons applica ble to food d and beverrages, consu umer  productss, chemical substancess, polymers and packa ging.    

gComplly optionally also prov vides clientss with Privatte Libraries - a gComp ply based  reposito ory containing their ow wn private d document li braries (i.e.. copyrighte ed standard ds).    

Using gC Comply, cliients have tthe ability to:   -D Determine global regu ulations   -L Locate relatted regulations and am mendmentss by topic o or country   -S Search for sspecific criteria and pa articular reg gulations ea asily   -Q Quickly review a varietty of regula ations appliccable to an individual substance   ubstance  ments by su -R Receive rep ports summarizing global requirem

3. gCom mply: SUBSTANCE E SEARCH 3.1 Select “Substan nce Search”” Click on n the blue Substance e Search ta ab:

3.2 Enteer Substancce A substance searc ch can be d done using g a varietyy of Identifiers. To search using g an  exact na ame, enterr the “Sub bstance Na ame” or “CAS1” n number in the box on  the upp per left side e of the sc creen. Be sure to sele ect the corrrespondin ng circle (ra adio  button) below the e search bo ox. Click GO.

Enter on ne, two, orr three Fragments off a Substan nce Name.. The Fragm ment Searcch  function n uses wild dcards on both ends of a string g. You do not need tto add an *.     This can n be helpfu ul if you do o not reme ember exa actly how the Substance Name e is  spelled or if you a are interestted in find ding the sa lt of a che emical. For example, to  search ssalts of 2,5 5 furan dio one, enter tthe fragme ents furan,, dione, and salt.     n also ente er up to fiv ve monome ers and the e hit list w will show all  You can permutations of p polymers c containing at least th hese three monomerrs. For  e, butadiene, styrene e, and acry ylonitrile w would list a all polymerrs containing  example at least these thre ee monom mers. You ca an add up  to two mo onomers b by putting  addition nal names into the search box..

Browse: e: Browse allows you to search by Regulattory Topicc OR by Co ountry OR by  Citation n/Title of a regulation n independ dently. Aftter you hav ve selected d the Brow wse  search ffunction, c choose the e particularr topical arrea from o one of the tthree  corresponding pic ck-lists (e.g g. Animal F Feed OR E European U Union OR 2 21CFR  178.101 10). Then select GO.    NOTE: T To use the Citation/T Title search h, type in a as much ass you know w of the Tittle  of the C Citation the en select G GO next to o the field.      NOTE: T To search ffor Citation n/Titles in languagess that have e special characters, e.g.  the various Instrução Normativa that are publis hed in Brazil, type in n the exactt  of words with the acc cented cha aracters to get all of the Instruçção Norma ativa  string o that are e in gComp ply. If you substitute a standard d characte er so that tthe string iis  Instruca ao Normattiva, you w will get no rresults beccause gCom mply is sea arching for a  character match. IIf you drop p the non--standard ccharacterss and just e enter Instru uo  Normattiva, you get all of th he Instrução Normatiiva's as in tthe first se earch. If yo ou  can't usse the exac ct spelling,, drop the non-stand dard letterss so that g gComply does  not search for the e exact cha aracter mattch.

  Select the blue Te ext Search  h tab to find d regulatio ons contain ning the ex xact wordss  that are e entered.     Adobe Rea ader (versio on 7 or latter) is requ uired to use e all the fe eatures of tthe  NOTE: A gComply Text Sea arch.     The Tex xt Search a allows you to retrieve e a regulattion based on any wo ord(s) and has  a similar appearan nce to the Substance e Search.    gComp ply has the capability y to search in Double e-Byte Languages su uch as Chin nese,  Japanesse, Korean, Russian, e etc. You m may search  across any y set of To opics or  Countries within y your subsc cription.     dd  Select the Topics and Counttries of intterest by cllicking on the check boxes. Ad ch box and d click Go.  The resultts are orga anized by  the key words into the searc anel. Click on the Top pic and clicck on the  Topic and Country in the lefft-hand pa Country y/Region o of interest in the left--hand panel and the e resulting citations a are  displaye ed in the right-hand panel. Clic ck on any  citation to o view the documentt.     NOTE: IIf you search using q quotes, you u will recei ve back from gComply exactly y  that wo ording.     You hav ve the ability to searc ch for exac ct phrases (e.g., “op ptical brigh htener”).  When y you initially y open the e Adobe PD DF docume ent, Adobe e shows ev very instan nce  of “optical” and d every instance of “brightene er”, as we ell as the p perfect mattch.  To redu uce to only y the instan nces with b both words, simply cclick on “N New Searcch”
