Dear Erasmus Student! This guide enclosed lots of useful information for the incoming ERASMUS students about The Budapest Business School and about the life in Budapest! First of all let us introduce ourselves: We are the Xchange Group. The members of this freewill group will be your Coordinators. If you have any problem then you can just ask us or the International Department. We try to make your life easier. And we will organise for you a lot of programs too. But also we need your contribution. If you can take one hint: be open, make new friendships, and take part on programs, so that you can become real Erasmus Students. And we guarantee that this semester will be one of the best parts of your life. We hope you all will have a nice time here in Budapest!

Information about the Xchange group We are a student organization at the Budapest Business School Faculty of International Management and Business. We founded this organization to help the Erasmus students visiting our school. We know how difficult is to find one’s way in a foreign country, and we are there to make this easier. We will be always next to you if you have any problem and we always try to help you as soon as possible. If you need we pick you up at the airport, or at the station for free of charge, then we help to find a suitable accommodation for you, arrange the administration of your student card, organize programs for you during the whole semester, and we are at your disposal when any problem occurs.

Groups, Facebook: Here you find a link. We would appreciate if you registered to this website: www.facebook.com On Facebook we established a group for BBS Erasmus Students 2013 Spring. We use this to organize parties, and programs. This way you can meet the others before arriving, and you can make friendships, what’s more you can be informed more quickly about the news and programs. http://www.facebook.com/groups/189720921162424/ Name of the group: BBS Erasmus Students 2013 Spring. We prepared an information leaflet about the most important things to know:

Accommodation: The rent of a flat with two bedrooms is roughly 400-500 Euro/month at the moment, and its current expenses are 120 Euro/month. The rent of a three-bedroom flat is 600-750 Euro/month, while the current expenses are about 160-180 Euro/month. Other rates depend on the size, it is 0.9-1 Euro per square meter. We can provide you some links of some agencies. You can look around on these websites and choose the flat which is the most suitable for you. If you arrive to Hungary and if you need some help, of course we will help you but not our task is to find a flat for you. Here are the links and the contacts: www.srs-budapest.hu They can speak in English, and here's an e-mail address of the lady to whom you can write, and if she can she'll help you: [email protected] www.budapestrent.com www.flatforrentbudapest.com www.apartmentsofbudapest.com www.cote-est.net There are 2 other contacts: Pierpaolo Fani and Luca Roffi. They are from Budapest Student Flat, if you are on www.facebook.com you can find them there. They have a group also on Facebook, called: „Budapest Student Flat”. If you are not on Facebook, it's worth to register because lots of information goes through this website. If you find other webpages to rent, before you make a deal contact us, and we will check if everything is all right with the agency, because we have a „black list”. Don’t worry, if you couldn’t arrange anything in advance. If you would like we will go to pick you up at the airport or station and after we accompany you to a hostel recommended by us. Here you can stay for a couple of days until the flat-matter will be solved. From the airport we can take you to this hostel:

http://www.maverickhostel.com/en/index.php You can stay there for a few days till you decide whom you would like to share accommodation with. Fill out the following questionnaire to let us know how many days you would like to spend in this hostel, so we can book a bed for you in advance. link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?authkey=CMRzaoF&formkey=dDBGaDJfa2VNR1pLc1FzMXNidGJsVnc6MQ#gid=0 Usually Erasmus students search for flats in the 5th’s and 6th’s (and the 7th’s and 8th’s near the boulvard) districts of Budapest, located in the city center. Many restaurants, cafes, discos, pubs, cinemas can be found there.

Mobile phone: If you want to use your phone in Hungary less expensively, you will need a new SIM card. You will have to make your mobile phone independent from the service provider, otherwise you need to buy a new one, which you can use your new SIM card with.

How to reach our school: From the center you should use the red metro line (metro line 2). You have to get off at Örs Vezér tere station and take the suburban railway (HÉV) to Mátyásföld Imre utca. From this station the school is 5 minutes walk.
