Experience The Mayan Yucatan

“Never before have I experienced such tender humility than with the people of the Yucatan Peninsula.” — Alfred Celador Redding, California

The Mayan People Need You! The Mayan people are a beautiful people who live on the Yucatan Peninsula, west of Cancun. The history of the Mayan culture is deeply rooted into mystic Mayan temple worship. The city where you serve is named Tizimin, meaning “Region of Horses.” It is one of the oldest cities in the Americas. Sometime during the 1500’s Spanish conquistadors forced the people into slavery. With a population of 61,000, these neglected and overlooked people have been left lost and spiritually empty. This is where your mission journey begins, aiding children and bringing restoration to families.

Testimonials Larisa - 25 Atlanta, Ga “I came not knowing what to expect but what I did know was that God desired to use me, that He loved me and that my life would not be the same after this trip. This DCI mission trip has left me speechless. Every day God showed me His amazing grace by using me again and again to touch lives and bring Him glory. I cried as I washed the feet of little children and gave them new sandals. I danced with orphans as they sang songs of worship. I painted the nails of teen girls and prayed with teen boys at a detention center about their dreams for the future. My life has changed, God

change their physical circumstances. We’ve learned all we can really do during our short time with the Belizeans is love them. ___

The Mayan Yucatan People Are Incredible! John - Canada

Breanna - Blue Ridge, Va

“As my team and I look around and watch all this, we find it’s bittersweet, “Belize has been a place because this ever- present where I have seen beauty sorrow always seems to be and sorrow meet—two very poignant realities that mingled with the beautiful times. Experiencing sorrow, often seem to intermingle however, is not necessarily in poor countries. Maybe a bad thing. Our team will that’s why the Belizeans are so open to the gospel, no longer be able to because the greatest place ignore the fact that not everyone lives in the same where beauty and sorrow comfortable way that we came together was at the do in Virginia. God knows cross. Even the joy of that sometimes sorrow is sharing this message with just what you need in them however, is tainted order to grow closer to by knowing that there’s not Himself—to become a too much you can do to

understanding that is what turns sorrow into something much more beautiful.” ___ Troy - 15 Orange Park, Fl “I’ve been going to church for about three years now. I’ve walked the aisle to get saved three times but never really got saved. I just thought it would be cool to go on a mission’s trip when we got the opportunity. Before the mission trip I was struggling with doubt and whether or not my relationship with Christ was real. The first day we got to Belize I immediately hated it. But when we did our worship service that night I felt God’s presence so strong that I started to

want more. The night our team shared their testimonies my friend Marcus started talking about Jesus on the cross and I knew then that I had to have that. After it was over I went and talked to Marcus and he prayed with me. I got saved Wednesday June 24, 2009. If it wasn’t for Mr. Bill and Ms. Kathy with their ministry I may have never gotten saved. I love Mr. Bill, Ms. Kathy and everyone else that made this experience so great.”
