DAAD Graduate Scholarships for Study, Research and Further Education Purpose: 1. Research projects for obtaining a PhD degree in Germany or Japan 2. Research or further education projects with no degree sought 3. Study projects for obtaining a Master‘s degree in Germany

Duration: Short version – 1-6 months (not extendable) Long version – 7-36 months (decision on extension once a year)

German language course provided prior to scholarship.

Benefits: € 1,000 € per month plus health insurance, flat-rate travel allowance, accommodation and family allowances

DAAD Graduate Scholarships for Study, Research and Further Education Application Requirements: - Highly qualified graduates with bachelor, master or PhD degree at scholarship commencement at the latest - Qualified research or study project

- Qualified invitation by German professor (for research projects) - Application no later than six years after graduation, or three years after commencement of PhD study, or two years after PhD graduation - Short scholarship: application no later than four years after PhD graduation - Maximum duration of stay in Germany at time of application: 15 months

- Long version: announcement in June, deadline late September, interviews in midNovember - Short version: applications welcome any time (3 months before commencement of stay) 12

Other DAAD Scholarships and Fellowships • DLR-DAAD Research Fellowships in the fields of Space, Aeronautics, Energy and Transportation Research PhD Students: 36 months, € 1,365 per month plus benefits Postdoctoral students: 6-24 months, € 2,000 per month Senior scientists: 1-3 months, € 2,300 per month DLR-DAAD Research Fellowships are defined and awarded on an individual basis.
