ASSESSMENT SCHEDULE

Assessments will take place regularly through the course in a mixture of both homework tasks, continuing coursework assessments and complete mixdown assessments for the assessment weeks.  Nov and Feb assessments – will require mixdowns of sequencing tasks and past papers from the listening module.  Regular homeworks will be set on the special focus genres as well as general listening paper homeworks.  You are expected to spend at least 3 extra hours per week working on coursework on the computers.  Poor results or insufficient progress with coursework will mean you will be timetabled to after school lessons.

3.

GENERAL EXPECTATIONS

The major requirement for Music Technology is commitment for free periods to be spent developing coursework.  Regular lateness will not be tolerated and will result in you being banned from the lesson or given controlled time to make up lesson time in Tuesday period 6.  Minimum of 3 hours in the department outside lesson time.  Not having done prep tasks will result in you missing the lesson  AS revision guide and AS coursework guide to be brought to every lesson  Coursework will be assessed via mixdowns which must always be submitted as a 16 bit/44.1 kHz WAV files.

4.

PREPARING FOR LESSONS AND HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS

Preparing for lessons 

 

Each lesson will begin with a prep listening task and question – failure to complete the task will mean you are not permitted to stay in the lesson. These tasks will involve listening to a piece of popular music specified by Mr. Ahira with one of a series of short questions to be answered. You will be picked at random to answer these questions so if the track has not been listened to you will be asked to leave and make up the time later. Alongside these simple tasks there will also be longer homeworks which need completing and handing in to specific deadlines.
