EXPLANATION of Network for Bidder 1. Core switches (6500) is at the server room located in computer department (Maharaja Ranjit Singh Bhawan). 2. At the distribution switches (Admin, Library, Computer Deptt, Food Science, Asian Studies) multiple VLANs has been created according to the different deptt. Like at the library distribution switches we create 18 VLANs. 3. Core Switches and the distribution switches are connected through the L3 link. 4. A server VLANs has been created on the core switch to provide the access of the core switch 5. Routing has been achieved between the distribution and core switches. EIGRP routing protocol has been used as the dynamic routing protocol. 6. Summarization of the routes has been configured to keep the routing table as short as possible. 7. Only one link is connected between the core switch and the distribution switch. 8. Core switches and distribution switches are connected through the multimode fibre. Similarly distributions switches and access switches are also connected through multimode fibre. 9. Access switches and the distribution switches are connected through L2 connectivity. 10. At the distribution switches Vlan databases and Layer 3 Vlan interfaces has been configured. 11. All the distribution switches have been configured as VTP server. 12. Users are connected to the access switches. 13. Two internet lines of different ISP of 1 GB and 17 Mbps from the Cyberoam (University UTM appliance) are terminated on the core switch. 14. Bandwidth Management is done at Cyber roam. 15. Boys and Girls hostels have the wireless access points. Wireless access points have been enabled with WEP security feature. 16. Outdoor access points have been installed across the University(in departments). 17. Users need to change the IP of the machines if they move from one outdoor access point as Outdoor access points are connected to the different access switches.
