KIRLOSKAR OIL ENGINES LIMITED was incorporated in 1946 and currently has four manufacturing plants that manufacture diesel

engines ranging from 3 hp to 11, 000 hp. The combined manufacturing capacity is in the region of 300, 000 engines per annum. The manufacturing plants are located as follows: • • • •

established in November 2003 and is the authorized sole distributor of Kirloskar diesel engines and associated equipment in South Africa, Mozambique and Botswana. KESAL entered the South African engine market

with

the

main

focus

on

engines

for

general

industrial,

construction, agriculture, water pumps, mining equipment and diesel powered generating set applications. KESAL offers quality products, at competitive prices, backed by immaculate after sales service to suit the demands of any industry. In turn, this leads to reduced investment and running cost with the result being reduced total cost of ownership (TCO). KESAL‘s key focus has been in providing customers with comprehensive

solutions for diesel prime mover requirements. We strive to offer products to suite the application and requirement by being versatile in our engine scope of supply. KESAL is very active in the local market offering various repowering solutions for existing as well as new applications.

construction equipment not to mention various end users from all industries which we have supplied and supported diligently on an ongoing basis since our inception in 2003. We have long standing engine supply contracts with Aquarius Platinum and Anglo Platinum in the mining industry. Our client base is continually expanding as we expose the Kirloskar brand to new customers. Our pride is in our after sales service which ensures that our clients minimise “downtime“ as a result of our reliable support.

BLACK ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT POLICY KESAL is BEE compliant and has achieved a level 6 accreditation. We strive to promote the objectives of the relevant acts and codes through high levels of professionalism and competance. Within the group of affiliated companies we have a BEE entity DCI Projects (Pty) Ltd that meets the ownership requirements. Should it be required business can be undertaken through this entity. Kirloskar Engines South Africa has a 20% Shareholding in this company.

A versatile range of air cooled diesel engines with various supply options for multiple applications covering a power band from 14 kW at 1500 RPM to 81 kW at 2300 RPM. Upgraded emission compliant versions available on certain models.

An indigenously designed range of water cooled diesel engines for various applications covering a power band from 18.5 kW at 1500 RPM to 125 kW @ 2300 RPM.

Flame Proof, Heat Exchanger Cooled and Emission compliant versions available in certain Models.

A robust range of water cooled diesel engines covering a power band from 139.9 kW at 1500 RPM to 264.5 kW at 2100 RPM. Heat Exchanger Cooled versions available on certain Models.

HEALTH AND SAFETY KESAL is committed to the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993.

PRODUCT SUPPORT KESAL prides itself on its immaculate after sales service. We offer extensive spare parts back-up, specialized service staff and also house a workshop facility to support the product in field. Our workshop facility at head office is capable of rebuilding all our products to O.E.M specifications. In-house Dynomometer Testing facility. We have dedicated field service teams with response times within 48 hours.

Various sub distributors have also been appointed in South Africa, Botswana and Mozambique. WARRANTY POLICY KESAL undertakes to replace any defective parts in the machinery that we supply, if such defects develop under proper use and arise solely from faulty material or workmanship, within a period of 18 calendar months from the date of shipment or within a period of 12 calendar months (or 2000 hours of operation, where the machinery has run continuously for day and night, within a period of six calendar months) from the date of commissioning of the equipment, whichever period is earlier, and not when faults are caused by: • Normal wear and tear • Breakage in transit • Damages due to mishandling • Components with limited shelf life • Electrical failure Provided that defective parts are promptly returned to us by the buyer at his own cost. Our liability will be limited to making available replacement parts at our factory and shall not include any other claims including labour, transport, loss of business etc. Required after sales services must be managed accordingly.
