NARFE Chapter 180 News Winchester, Virginia Volume 23 Issue 2 May 2016

Chapter 180 President's Message I want our chapter to continue to be the friendliest and most sociable group of retired federal employees in the state and for us to grow with new members. I know I write this every time but this a special group of folks. We have “the lucky table number 6 group”, that by the simple act of buying lots of raffle tickets helps the Alzheimer's fund and makes us all laugh at their generosity and good humor. The Members of this chapter have a wealth of work/life experiences and expertise that could be put to good use on some of the Chapter's committees. We have a number of folks that need to be thanked for their present and past service as officers and committee members. So I am asking all of you to help in keeping this chapter as great as it has been Tom Cooper President NARFE Chapter 180 540-459-5199 or tcooper @shentel.net

ALZHEIMER’S REPORT Thank you, members of NARFE Chapter 180, for your continued support of Alzheimer’s Research. The National association’s mission is to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease and offer support to all that are affected. Alzheimer’s remains one of the top 10 diseases causing death with no known cure. With God’s help and ours perhaps we may live to see that change. Thank you to all our ladies for the wonderful baked goods. Our raffle ticket sales are always up if we have baked goods. Thanks to the gentlemen for purchasing lots of tickets, their eyes really light up when checking out the baked items. For 2016, we look forward to seeing all of the wonderful items being offered and the funds they generate Alzheimer’s Contacts: Grace Sabanosh, Sharon Cordero

When you die without a will, the State has a will ready made for you. Unfortunately, the State’s idea of who your beneficiaries are may be quite different from yours. The best way to insure that your things are distributed to those who are most important to you is to execute a will.
