Venice, Italy

ABOUT THIS EUROPEAN TOUR The two Canada Pacific Hawks teams will fly to Europe from Vancouver (other gateways may be available) in late July or early August for a two week hockey tour. The teams will enjoy time in the Bavarian capital of Munich and the Alps before visiting Romeo and Juliet’s town of Verona and exploring world famous Venice. The remainder of the tour will be in Austria and the Czech Republic with the final flight schedule, exhibition game availability and tournament schedule determining the final itinerary. The teams will definitely go to Prague and Salzburg during the tour. The full proposed itinerary is located below. Some aspects of the tour may change in the final itinerary, but the destinations will remain the same. The team will play 7 to 8 games in total on the tour.

Day 1 Meet at the airport in Vancouver and check in 3 hours prior to departure. Depart on an overnight flight to Munich, Germany. Day 2 Arrive in Munich, meet your guide and bus. Depart for the Munich city center and check in to the hotel. Evening dinner and entertainment at the Munich Hofbrauhaus.

Meals: B, D Overnight: Padua, Italy Day 6 Depart for Venice. Arrive in Venice at the Tronchetto parking area and take a private boat to St. Mark’s Square. Meet your local guide for a walking tour of Venice. Afterwards you will have free time to have lunch on your own, shop and maybe take a gondola ride through the canals. Depart for the area near Villach. Arrive at the hotel, check in and have dinner.

Meals: D Overnight: Munich, Germany Meals: B, D Overnight: Near Villach, Austria Day 3 Depart for Fussen. Arrive in Fussen and practice (1 hour). Free time in Fussen to explore and have lunch on own. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided tour of the famous Neuschwanstein Castle. Depart for Innsbruck. Arrive, check in and have dinner. Meals: B, D Overnight: Innsbruck, Austria Day 4 Enjoy a free time in downtown Innsbruck to sightsee and explore. We include the Innsbruck Card which is good for museums and the local cable cars. In the afternoon depart for Vipiteno/Sterzing for exhibition game # 1 vs TBA. Return to Innsbruck. Dinner on own. Meals: B, D Overnight: Innsbruck, Austria Day 5 Depart for Verona. Guided walking tour of Romeo and Juliet’s Verona. Free time to sightsee, shop and explore the Verona city centre. Depart for Padua. Check in to the hotel and have dinner in Padua.

Day 7 Depart for Mozart’s birthplace, Salzburg. On arrival you will meet your local guide for a walking tour of Salzburg. Then use your free time in Salzburg to explore the city centre or take the funicular to the Hohensalzburg Fortress for a great view. Dinner tonight is at the Augustiner Brewery. After dinner check in to the hotel. Meals: B, D Overnight: Salzburg, Austria Day 8 This morning you will go to Hallein for a tour of one of the local Salt Mines. After the tour you will stop for lunch on your own and then depart for Ceske Budejovice in the Czech Republic. On arrival go to the arean and play a late afternoon game # 1 vs TBA. Dinner at a restaurant. Meals: B, D

Day 9 This morning is a short drive to the medieval town of Ceske Krumlov for a guide tour. During the free time

in Ceske Krumlov have lunch on your own and maybe see the torture museum. A short rafting trip on the river may also be possible. Depart for Prague. On arrival, check into the hotel and have dinner. Meals: B, D Overnight: Prague

Verona, Italy

Day 10 In the morning depart for the Prague Castle and meet you local guide for a walking tour of Prague all the way to the Old Town Square. You will have a short free time for lunch on your own and then we will depart for the arena for Tournament game # 1. Dinner will be at a restaurant after the game. Meals: B, D Overnight: Prague

Sat Mines, Hallein, Austria

Day 11 Take a short trip out of Prague near the town of Beroun to take a tour of the Nizbor Crystal factory. After some time in the factory shop we can stop at a local pizzeria for lunch on your own before we depart for the arena for Tournament game # 2. Dinner in the evening is included at a restaurant. Ceske Krumlov, Czech Republic

Day 12 Depart for the arena in the morning for Tournament game # 3. Lunch will be included. The afternoon and evening will be free downtown to sightsee, shop and have dinner on your own. Meals: B, L Overnight: Prague

Nizbor Crystal Factory, Czech Republic

Day 13 Depart for the arena in the morning for Tournament game # 4 and the closing ceremonies. The afternoon is free downtown to have lunch on your own, sightsee and shop. We will meet in the evening to have a dinner cruise on the Vlatava river. Meals: B, D Overnight: Prague Day 14 In the morning we will depart for Plzen. You will have some free time for lunch on your own before we depart for the arena for an afternoon exhibition game. Dinner will be

A Tour Includes Much More Than Just Hockey In addition to the hockey component of the tour, we include various sightseeing tours and special events for the group. We include city tours with local professional guides in Verona, Venice, Salzburg, Ceske Krumlov and Prague. In Innsbruck we include the 24 hour Innsbruck Card with numerous free time options including the Innsbrucker Nordkettenbahnen cable cars and Swarovski Crystal World. You will enjoy a tour of the world famous Neuschwanstein Castle, the Salt Mines near Hallein and the Nizbor Crystal Factory. We include a private boat to transport you from the Tronchetto parking area in Venice to St. Mark’s Square. In Prague, the group will have an evening dinner cruise on the Vltava river.
