today, we transfer from queenstown on our private flight to napier on the north island. we check-in to our five-star home, the farm at cape kidnappers, in Hawke’s Bay for the next three evenings, where the service, atmosphere and scenery are incomparable. OVERNIGHT: THE FARM AT CAPE KIDNAPPERS

GOLF: CAPE KIDNAPPERS spread over a dramatic landscape, cape kidnappers is like no other course in the world. tom doak created this prize-winning golf course on land perched 500 feet above Hawke’s Bay—a site that “belongs more to heaven than earth.” doak’s brilliant design is best demonstrated by just how naturally many fairways utilize the most scenic parts of the site and yet remain fully playable. generous fairways give way to challenging approach shots into complex greens. TOUR: GANNET COLONY & NAPIER our morning begins with a trip to the splendid cape kidnappers gannet colony—the only place in the world to see up close the nesting place of over 20,000 gannets. as we watch these birds fly off the cliffs to dive deep for fish, our local guides explain the preening, dance performances and behaviors we witness. this afternoon there is time to explore napier and its famed art deco architecture. rebuilt after a devastating earthquake, napier offers the greatest variety and concentration of 1930s building styles in existence—stripped classical, spanish mission and, above all, art deco. TOUR: THE WINES OF HAWKE’S BAY Hawke’s Bay, the oldest established wine growing region in new Zealand, is home to many of the country’s most famous vineyards. today, we explore the region’s fine wines with tastings led by award-winning vintners. our enjoyable final tasting is paired with local specialties for lunch. December 10–13, 2016 Fly to Melbourne, Australia, and transfer to the five-star Park Hyatt Hotel—ideally located in Parliament Square—where we spend three nights and play Kingston Heath, designed by Alister MacKenzie. Referred to by some as “the best course in Melbourne,” Kingston Heath is ranked #28 in the world by Golf Magazine and earns a perfect 100 score from Rolex’s World’s Top Courses; it is sure to be a memorable and delightful round. In addition to golf, there is ample time to tour city sites, the scenic vineyards of the Yarra Valley and Healesville Sanctuary where kangaroos, koalas and other Australian wildlife can be seen in their natural habitat. Tasmania Golf EXTENsion Tour December 10–13, 2016 We fly to Tasmania, Australia, then drive to Barnbougle Dunes where we spend three nights at Lost Farm Lodge, beautifully perched overlooking the ocean. Play both the Tom Doak designed Links course, as well as the Coore & Crenshaw Lost Farm; both courses are ranked in the top 50 in the world. Tasmania’s tranquil setting provides the perfect backdrop for golf. The Tasmania extension can be enjoyed directly after the main tour, or after the Melbourne extension. The Tasmania tour price is $1,965, double occupancy, and includes: three nights accommodations, three breakfasts, three lunches, three dinners, two rounds of golf and airport transfers.
