This allowance is all-purpose for both tradespersons and apprentices. An all-purpose allowance means any allowance regarded as part of the ordinary rate of pay for the purposes of calculating, for example, overtime, penalty rates, public holidays and types of paid leave such as annual leave and sick leave.
