1906 In the 19th century PORR built numerous magnificent buildings along the newly formed Vienna Ringstrasse. One of the high points of the epoch, known in architectural history as “Late Historism”, was the Haus der Industrie at Schwarzenbergplatz. 1869 "Allgemeine österreichische
Baugesellschaft"
was founded and listed on the stock exchange. In 1927 it merged with A. Porr
Betonbauunterneh-
mung GmbH.
1930 Pioneering achievements such as the “Großglockner High Alpine Road”; building various power plants, road, rail and industrial facilities.

1953 PORR began construction of Ringturm tower on the Donaukanal to Erich Boltenstern’s plans. The building boasts 20 storeys and has a height of 73 metres. It is considered to be Vienna’s first “real” high-rise and an innovative project for the reconstruction of the city.
1980 PORR recognised the potential in Eastern Europe even before the fall of the Iron Curtain and expanded into countries in the former Eastern Bloc. In this way it was involved in extending the Ferihegy II airport in Budapest.
1990s PORR's expertise and skills were in high demand on the construction of multiple major power plants along the Danube. The company thereby made an important contribution to securing Central Europe's energy supply.

Stadiums On the occasion of the EURO 2008, PORR carried out extensive new construction and renovation of the stadiums in Klagenfurt, Wals-Siezenheim and Innsbruck. The con struction of a multi-functional stadium also requires supplementary infrastructure measures for the development of the surrounding area. In many cases, sports facilities need to be dismantled after the successful completion of major events. As a full-service-provider, PORR is an expert partner for the realisation of even the most complex projects. There are major events planned for the future which will require perfect
