Banco Sabadell Foundation The Banco Sabadell Foundation was founded as a private institution in 1994, by a decision of the Board of Directors of Banco Sabadell, with the goal of encouraging and divulging knowledge and culture. Mission The mission of the Foundation is to promote knowledge, training and research aimed at society as a whole in the social, educational, scientific and cultural spheres. The main sponsorships granted by the Banco Sabadell Foundation focus on supporting institutions, preserving heritage, cooperating with the arts (musical, performing and visual) and enhancing the recognition of outstanding young people in the area of innovation and research. Governance The Foundation’s expenditure is funded by the yield on its assets and grants from Banco Sabadell. The Foundation is governed and managed by the Board of Trustees, which represents the Foundation and is fully empowered to act in pursuit of its aims. In the area of the arts, the Foundation sponsors leading institutions such as Gran Teatre del Liceu, the Royal Association of Friends of the Queen Sofia National Art Centre and Museum, the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA), the Season of Opera in Catalonia, and others in the Principality of Asturias in cooperation with the Banco Herrero Foundation.
