Description Naperville has always boasted of a variety of businesses, trying to anticipate the needs of its customers and advertising its products and services with business cards, postcard ads, anniversary booklets, Christmas cards, promotional gifts such as address books and collections of Christmas carols, and discount coupons. Besides these marketing examples, this collection includes bills and receipts, correspondence, carryout menus, information booklets and tags that offer confirmation of prices through the years and addresses of businesses no longer in existence. From the earliest establishments such as dry goods stores like Slick and Kochly, Beckman Harness Makers, and E. Musselman Grain, Coal and Feed to today's proliferation of retailers, realtors, and restaurants, one thing remains the same, that businesses can only thrive when they can attract customers and treat them well.
