FROM THE PRESIDENT ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Dear Friends of Mount Olive College: I am pleased to provide you with this report demonstrating the significant support that the College receives which enables us to transform the lives of so many individuals. The past academic year, July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013, was significant in several important ways. During this period, the accreditation of Mount Olive College was re-affirmed by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools through 2021. In addition, the College received permission to offer graduate degree programs, which further demonstrates the development of the College over the past six decades of operation from its founding as a two year college, to its approval to offer baccalaureate programs in 1986, and now permission to offer graduate degrees. The College continues to grow and expand its services to its students, church, and communities; but its mission remains the same: to provide a Christian faith-based, values-centered education rooted in the liberal arts tradition. As all of us know, the last several years have been difficult ones in the economic life of the United States, as well as many other countries. Accordingly, many of our students and their families have also experienced financial challenges. I am pleased that our overall enrollment has remained reasonably steady, and the financial support provided by friends of the College has been instrumental in allowing us to assist many of our students and their families. Your support has also enabled us to enhance facilities, increase our program offerings, and develop new ways to reach out in service to others. For example, the new RN to BSN program and the expansion of our teacher education programs will help ensure that the region has a cadre of new professionals to provide some of the important services needed in this region. The chart shows the sources and amounts of donations to Mount Olive College during the past fiscal year, and it is a pleasure to see the diversity of those sources of funds that are contributed. I want to assure you that we have been good stewards of the funds that have been entrusted to the College. The finances of the College are strong, and it is our intention to be in service for many decades to come.
