Hiroku and the defenders of Gaia
Their work Perpetuum Mobile was named among the possible nominees for the 81st annual academy cinema awards in the Best Animation Short Film category. This was the start for the development of the feature film Leo. The company has also received 31 international cinematography awards. The company is specialized in animation with 3D tools although there are some sci-fi real action projects, with lots of VFX. Nowadays Silverspace is co-producing HIROKU AND THE DEFENDERS OF GAIA, an animated feature film; LEO in development; DESPUES DE LA MUERTE in production.
Year 2120 (20 years after the “Planetary Cataclysm”). A multiracial group of young ecologists against The Corporation are defending Gaia (the planet conceived as a living organism). They are young, with a scientific and technical formation with altruistic aims, who have been put on the wrong side of the law by the omnipotent macro-enterprise that controls the diverse designs of humanity and earth. One part of humanity lives in great cities sheltered and protected by The Corporation, whilst the majority of the population lives in small gatherings abandoned, luck struck and held at Kane’s keen desires, the owner of The Corporation. A mysterious patron, Nagual gives his logistic moral support to the Gaia defenders and assigns them different missions from his secret general quarters situated below El Teide. The Gaia defenders control constant essentials of an ill planet.

The production company Txalap.art was created late 2004 following the incursion of Oreka Tx, a pair of musicians, in the world of audiovisual production. This pair of “txalapartaris” formed by Igor Otxoa and Martinez de San Vicente Harkaitz created this company whose first job is the audiovisual project called Nömadak Tx, which was 74% of production of Txalap. art.
TXALAP.ART & ARENA COMUNICACION. This is the second feature film they produce together. The first one was a great experience with the multi awarded film Nömadak TX. Its International Premiere was at IDFA 2006 and has been awarded at the San Sebastian IFF, Guadalajara IFF, Silverdocs, Durban IFF, Moffom (Prague), Docs DF (Mexico), Belfast IFF, Napa Sonoma FF, etc. It has been screened in more than 100 international film festival and the audience voted the film as the Second Favourite Film of the 20 Years of IDFA, and was again screened at IDFA 2007 with the other 19 films choosen by the spectators. Appart from the audiovisual production, Txalap.art produces musical and dance spectacles, as Nömadak TX Live (choosen for the WOMEX 2009 Official Showcase) or “Hostoak” and “Leaves”, the new show is producing at the moment where basque dance, music and vocals will find a great fusion together.
The experience with that film has been so helpful for “La vida de Iñaki”, as well as the contacts in festivals, broadcasters and distribution companies. They were all asking for the next project of the team of Nömadak TX, but they needed 4 years to choose the story they wanted to tell . They had it so clear with “La vida de Iñaki”.

The other man –a painter living in Spain– is suffering from artist`s block; the model for his drawings of hands has announced she no longer wishes to continue.

The film production company IZAR Films (UK) and REC Grabaketa Estudioa are working together in a joint project called “To say goodbye”, an animated documentary based on the real story of the 4.000 children who were evacuated to England after the bombing of Gernika on 26th April 1937. Some of these children never saw their families again and 250 stayed in England for ever. The film will be released in 2012, coinciding with the 75th anniversary of the bombing of Gernika and the evacuation.

We started last October with a group, and for the moment, we are completely reaching our objective.

An advergame with an original concept created for a rock pub. The game has been developed as an arcade, so the bar owner has installed it into a cabinet for its clients to play. Also, a ZX Spectrum version was created for the game, and a limited cassette edition has been produced for it. >B a-Boon!. This is a wip platform game we are planning to release soon for iOS devices. Out first demonstration for the game obtained the Best Basque Game Award at the hóPlay International Game Festival, and it is planned to be our leader project at our product line.

VirtualREHAB Virtualware has developed a platform that makes it possible to manage and execute specific physical rehabilitation exercises in a 3D environment. It does so using multimedia technology and motion capture with Kinect®. This tool has an analysis and report module that will enable the physical therapist to track each user’s progress as well as ensure that exercises are being done at the right time and the right way.

ARGuide A solution that enriches tourists’ visits inside museums or interpretation centres as an alternative to the usual audio guides with greater functionality and using enriched multimedia resources.
