The mission of Alpha Omega Training Solutions (AOTS) is to achieve training excellence through superior educational opportunities in all aspects of emergency services with a minimum of barriers, to all motivated persons at the lowest possible cost to the student and public. Content: This New Jersey State Police course is designed as an introduction to Weapons of Mass Destruction and the threat posed by terrorists. The course will emphasize the recognition of nuclear, biological and chemical (NBC) agents incidents, recognizing the signs and symptoms of exposure to NBC Agents, the importance of decontamination and the actions appropriate to responders trained to the Awareness Level. Content: This New Jersey State Police course is designed to increase the depth of knowledge of responders who may be confronted by the challenge created when a terrorist incident involves the deployment of nuclear, biological and/or chemical (NBC) agents. Emphasis will be placed on identifying correct operations level defensive actions, relevant personal protection and detection and identification equipment, and understanding emergency decontamination procedures that can be employed at an NBC event. Content: Both Federal and New Jersey laws and regulations regulate operations in confined spaces. These laws and regulations directly impact emergency response personnel who respond to confined space emergencies. This course will enable you to identify a confined space and recognize its potential hazards. Content: The goal of this course is to enable first responders to recognize and understand the required elements of a written hazard communication program, including how to identify and evaluate chemical hazards using Safety Data Sheets and chemical labels. The student will: recognize the purpose, scope and elements of the hazard communication standard, identify how chemical hazards are determined, identify the purpose of a Safety Data Sheet, and its components, identify chemicals and their hazards, through campus labeling and warning practices, recognize the physical and health hazards inherent with hazardous chemicals, and recognize the information and training required by OSHA's Hazard Communication Standard.

Content: This 2-day course is designed to provide students with some basic tools and skills to

coordinate training in a small fire/EMS organization. A training function in a smaller department typically may include conducting training drills and coordinating training with a nearby larger city or State training function. Leadership issues in fire service training, such as why and how the local training officer must be a catalyst for change, and personal motivators within the department. Identifying the legal issues affecting the training function, including an understanding of a standard of care, and the impact of OSHA and NFPA standards. Safety considerations in training.
