Our customers ASSDEV GmbH & Co. KG ASSDEV GmbH & Co. KG was founded in October 2005. The two managing directors are Horst Rühl and Hans Hofmann. The scope of business is: - Production and Development of electronic devices and machines - and all activities related to this. ASSDEV don’t see themselves as just another Contract Manufacturer but as a “Integrated, all-inclusive Technology Company”. From start the way of thinking and working in the company should be aimed at thinking in open structures. Everyone can give inputs in every direction, which can lead to implementing improvements of existing products or the development of new products. For the electronics production ASSDEV started with one SMT placement line and one wave solder line, but already when planning the start of the new company the aim was to increase to two lines each as soon as possible. Mr. Rühl had already made positive experience with Adopt as a reliable supplier in his past positions as factory manager of different electronics manufacturers in Franconia and so contacted Adopt again while founding ASSDEV GmbH & Co. KG. Still in 2005 Adopt supplied feeder trolleys, feeders and board handling equipment and serviced and installed the first Siplace line including a DEK stencil printer, Siplace 80 S-20 and Siplace 80 F-4 SMT placement machines and an IBL In-Line Vapor Phase Soldering Machine. Component preparation devices, a fume extractor and storage trolleys were some of the “small items” which Adopt could also source for ASSDEV for good prices. Adopt was able to source a suitable Seho wave solder machine in very good condition including a complete carrier transport system from one Adopts good customers and sell it on to ASSDEV. A nitrogen hood for the waves of the soldering machine was manufactured by Adopt together with partner companies and fitted to the wave solder machine. Already beginning of 2006 ASSDEV installed an automated optical inspection system (AOI) and Adopt supplied the board handling equipment around the inspection machine. The AOI was installed in a separate line so boards from the SMT line and from the wave soldering line can get inspected there. And of course also the products from the planned second lines for SMT and wave soldering The second wave solder line was installed still in the first half of 2006, the supplier was again Adopt. So now ASSDEV has one wave solder machine with lead free tin and on with leaded tin in operation and can work to their customers preferences. During 2006 ASSDEV bought a few batches of Siplace feeders as a reaction to their growing business and the necessity to cut down on setup times. The reliable partner for these supplies was again Adopt. Because of the excellent working partnership Adopt was included in the planning process for the second SMT line already at a very early stage. For reflow soldering ASSDEV decided for another IBL vapor phase soldering machine, this machine can solder at both lead free temperature and at leaded temperature with the same medium making the line very flexible. For printing and placing the choice was compatible equipment to first line from DEK and Siemens. To ensure the save placement of 0201 components at least one of the placement machines should have a DLM 12 nozzle placement head specified for these small components and some suitable feeders should be included. Thanks to their good relations to different machine manufacturers and distributors Adopt was able to put together a complete line with new and ex-demo machines. Including a stencil printer DEK, placement Hover Davis 3x8mm feeder for all componmachines Siplace 80 S20 and 80 F5 HM, board handling, feeders ents delivered in 8mm tape, including 0201 and feeder trolleys. Because of the conclusive business concept and the good partnership since the foundation of ASSDEV Adopt also made the interim financing for the new line and so this line is in operation for a few months already - and well employed by now. A customer who ASSDEV is producing evaluation kits for mobile phones for can now include new components in their layouts since ASSDEV can place 0201 components without problems now. Adopt also trained the new personnel hired for the second line. Since implementing the second SMT line ASSDEV is using new magazine racks throughout the production area. Adopt was able to source these for very reasonable prices and meanwhile included these to their line card. ASSDEV grew rapidly in the two years since SMT placement area with founded and is now a nice sized company the two Siplace SMT lines. with 32 employees and currently 45 customers from all areas of the electronics industry.
