German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology (GMIT)

The 1st New Model University project in Vietnam focusing on sustainable high-tech engineering. A Vietnamese state university following German academic & administrative standards.

WHO WE ARE A joint project of Vietnam & Germany with academic support from 36 German universities. On the way to be a leading University in Vietnam and Southeast-Asia.

German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology

Background -

Higher Education in Mongolia doesn’t meet both the needs (quantitative demand) and the professional and qualitative requirements of the raw materials industry and the related upstream and downstream industries. Orientation towards practice and towards international quality standards is missing.

-

The establishment of the GMIT rests upon an agreement between the German Chancellor Dr. Angela Merkel and Mongolia‘s President Mr. Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj in the context of the German-Mongolian agreement on cooperation in the fields of raw materials, industry and technology.

-

The Mongolian government highlights that the GMIT should focus especially on downstream industries strengthening value creation in the country.

-

Mongolian and International companies have declared their willingness to cooperate and to make concrete contributions.
