Emily L. Ball, Record No. 1133

Shervin is a senior mechanical engineering major at NYU Tandon School of Eng’g. He has completed internships at General Electric Aviation where he served in both manufacturing and design roles. He is also a TA, mentors freshmen, and teaches them engineering fundamentals. Shervin hopes to ultimately pursue a career with GE in aviation or healthcare.

Yazid, a Moroccan native, studies mechanical engineering at West Virginia Tech where he serves as WV Beta chapter president, ASME chapter president, and Pi Tau Sigma chapter secretary. He researched and proposed the design of a solar-oxyhydrogen system to increase an engine’s efficiency. He plans to work or pursue a master’s degree in petroleum eng’g.

Emily is studying biomedical engineering at the University of South Carolina with a minor in chemistry. She has spent two summers doing cancer research at the Univ. of Kentucky and Moffitt Cancer Center and is a member of the women’s varsity soccer team. She is the incoming secretary of the SC Beta Chapter of TBP and plans to pursue a medical degree or Ph.D.

Jonathan is pursuing a B.S. in electrical engineering with a minor in computer science and an M.S. in computer engineering at Mercer University. He is GA Beta Chapter president. He plans to continue working with Georgia Tech Research Institute after graduating. In the future, he hopes to either pursue his MBA or go into the mission field.

Kayla is a mechanical engineering BS/MS student at Case Western Reserve University, with a focus in robotics. She researches in the biologically inspired robotics lab working on a quadrupedal greyhound inspired robot. She is president of the campus robotics club and plans to enter industry with the goal of pursuing a Ph.D. after joining the workforce.

Riddhi is studying biomedical engineering with a minor in psychology at Rutgers University. She is the community service chair of the NJ Beta Chapter of Tau Beta Pi. She also works in a stem cell research lab, looking into the differentiation of dopaminergic neural cells. After graduation, Riddhi plans on attending medical school.

Jessica is studying mechanical engineering at Western Kentucky University and during her semester abroad at the Univ. of Cape Town, South Africa. She enjoys being a college of science and engineerambassador, Tau Beta Pi officer, ASME events coordinator, and leader within Campus Crusade for Christ. She will pursue a biomedical engineering master’s degree.

Suri is double majoring in computer science and mathematics with a minor in literature at MIT. She is a TA, president of MIT Friends of Israel, and a staff columnist for MIT’s newspaper. She interned at the Weizmann Inst. optimizing nutrition planning for diabetics and at Akamai Technologies in cyber security. Suri plans to pursue a master’s in artificial intelligence.

Ryan T. Beaumont, Record No. 1134 Ryan is studying civil engineering at Brigham Young University. His emphasis is structural engineering and he has taken courses in the design of steel, reinforced concrete, timber, and seismically-resistant buildings. He is interested in sustainability and green building practices and plans to pursue a master’s degree in engineering.

Rachel is a geological engineering senior at Colorado School of Mines. She is active with Alpha Phi Omega and the Assoc. of Environmental & Engineering Geologists. This summer, she is interning at the National Ice Core Lab, researching climate using ice cores from around the world. She hopes to work as a geotechnical engineer in hazard mitigation.

James is a mechanical engineering student minoring in economics at the University of Pittsburgh. He’s completed three internships in manufacturing, including at Tesla Motors in powertrain manufacturing operations. He participates in robotics club, panther hurling club, and as the PA Lambda social chair. He will pursue a career in robotics & automation and become an entrepreneur.

Nicholas is an aeronautical engineering student at the United States Air Force Academy. His recent work concerned the development and optimization of a flush air data system for the SpaceX Dragon crew capsule. After graduation, he will receive his commission as an officer in the U.S. Air Force

Katie is a senior at Clemson University majoring in bioengineering with an electrical concentration and a minor in Spanish. She is president of Engineers Without Borders and is also pursuing research to create medical devices for developing countries. She has interned with NIST as well as the Greenville Health System. Katie plans to work in the medical device industry.

Cody is a senior at Wichita State University studying mechanical engineering. He received an internship with MKEC and enjoys the work. As KS Beta Chapter tresaurer, he has big plans for the fall semester and hopes to see the organization grow. He is committed to help improve the local community.

Briana is studying chemical & biological engineering at Colorado State University with a Spanish minor. She is active at CSU and volunteers as a Pretty Brainy mentor; a non-profit devoted to inspiring STEM abilities in middle and high school girls. She interned with Archer Daniels Midland, will continue educating young girls, and work for a company with a commitment to sustainability.

Michael is the PA Epsilon Chapter president of TBP. He is pursuing dual degrees in civil engineering and history at Lafayette College, and is conducting research in railroad track stabilization technology. After graduation, he plans to pursue a master’s degree with a focus on geotechnical engineering.

Darren is a mechanical engineering major at the University of Louisville. His areas of research include solidstate additive manufacturing and developing copper-based solar cells. He spent two semesters as an intern for Marathon Petroleum and is part of a team that teaches engineering to high school students in developing countries. He hopes to continue his studies at the graduate level.

Chantel is studying biomedical engineering at Rochester Institute of Technology. She conducted research at the Vermont Lung Center on ventilator-induced lung injury, and the synthesis of antibodydrug conjugates at the Univ. of Utah. She is a BMES member, works as a TA, is president of RIT’s equestrian team, and intends to purse a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering.

Shivam, also known as Shiv Curry, is an honors student at the University of Houston pursuing bachelor’s degrees in chemical engineering and economics. He has participated in undergraduate research, UH organizations, and internships with BP and Arkema. His career plan is to hustle, grind, and maximize the value he adds to the company and his peers.

Ari is studying both computer and electrical engineering at Kettering University. He has been a co-op for Ford Motor Co. for 3 years in product development and research. He also held multiple leadership positions for his fraternity, multiple honor societies, and clubs on campus. After graduating, he plans to continue working at Ford and pursue an MBA.

Christine is studying computer science at the University of Portland. She performed research in episodic memory (Artificial Intelligence) and linux kernel module rootkits, and is currently researching the benefits of anomaly detection on system metadata streams. She is pursuing a career in cybersecurity to utilize her technical skills and create solutions that give people peace of mind.

Seth is a mechanical engineering and general eng’g double major with nuclear and industrial focus. He attends the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and is involved in many academic societies, is a member of the mini-baja team, and is helping establish a Sigma Nu chapter. He interned at Covenant Transportation Group and Duracell. He will pursue an MBA or a Ph.D.

Born in Guatemala, Jose moved to Laramie for undergraduate studies at the University of Wyoming. Majoring in chemical engineering with a minor in chemistry, he has received numerous awards. He has conducted research in nanostructures/spectroscopy in China. He works in the Stable Isotope Facility and plans to pursue a Ph.D. in chemical engineering.

Agata is majoring in industrial engineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she serves as the vice-president of the IISE, and as the volunteering chair of Tau Beta Pi. This summer she is interning with Zurich North America. After graduation, she hopes to work as an engineering consultant in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Jared is majoring in mechanical engineering at Brigham Young University. He has researched at MIT Lincoln Labs on sensor systems for unmanned air vehicles and plans on pursuing a Ph.D. in astronautical eng’g. He earned a certificate in Spanish and is working on a German minor. He hopes to further the work of the ISS and eventually land humans on Mars.

Austin is majoring in mechanical engineering and minoring in technical communication at Milwaukee School of Engineering. As an intern at Yaskawa, he contributed to strategic product planning and redesigning existing equipment. He is WI Delta Chapter president and member of the MSOE hockey and tennis teams. He plans to pursue a master’s and an MBA.

Justin is a bioengineering major at UC Berkeley, actively involved on campus in organizations such as the regents & chancellors scholars association and TBP. Additionally, he focused on determining whether certain biological receptors implicated in the onset of type 1 diabetes can be employed to mitigate the adverse effects of the disease.

Alex is a mechanical engineering major at the University of Miami. Apart from academics, he works part-time as a peer tutor at the academic resource center on campus. He is interested in research-based work, and aims to gain experience in research before graduating. After completing his degree, Alex intends to attend graduate school to study composite materials.

Caitlin will graduate (Dec. ‘17) with a bachelor’s degree in petroleum & mining engineering with a geology minor. An internship at Newmont Mining Corp., lead her to pursue a career in underground mining. She is involved in several student organizations: SME, ISEE, SPE, and the mining competition team. She will serve as a TA for stage pyrotechnics in the fall.

Jenalyn is studying chemical engineering at Brigham Young University with a minor in business management. She is a student advisor for the honors program and participates in undergraduate research. She interned at Chemtura working on streamlining various batch processes. Jenalyn enjoys volunteering for Habitat for Humanity and plans to work at an oil company as a process engineer.

Michael is a computer engineering major at Iowa State University. His research in the field of computational mechanics involves the development of software for solving complex mechanical eng’g problems. He interned at Rockwell Collins developing test applications for system validation; and Microsoft working on the Windows Kernel. He will pursue a Ph.D. in computer eng’g or computer science.

Leon is studying civil engineering at The College of New Jersey. He is NJ Z Chapter president and a member of ASCE, Alpha Phi Omega, and humanitarian engineers. He gained field experience through internships with Mount Construction and Alaimo Group. He has studied sustainable engineering in Ireland and Portugal and plans to enter industry as a structural or geotechnical engineer.

Brian is an aerospace engineering major at the United States Naval Academy. He is currently researching new rotor blade geometries and analyzing their effects on helicopter hover performance. After graduation and commissioning in the U.S. Navy, Brian hopes to attend graduate school followed by a career as a submarine officer.

Dionysi Damaskopoulos, Record No. 1143 Dionysi is double majoring in electrical and mechanical engineering at the Colorado School of Mines. He has explored a variety of fields with experiences at CU Denver’s Super Conducting Electronics Lab, Honda of America, Orbital ATK, and Xcel Energy. Upon graduation, he plans to pursue a Ph.D. in plasma physics to contribute to nuclear fusion research.

Isaac is a chemical engineering major at the University of Cincinnati. He is OH B Chapter president, TA, and ambassador of the engineering department and UC honors program. Isaac has completed 4 co-op rotations with SABIC’s innovative plastics and 1 co-op with BP. Upon graduation, he plans to pursue a process eng’g position in industry and work toward completing a PE license.

Emily is studying chemical engineering at the University of Arkansas with a minor in sustainability. She serves as AR Alpha recording secretary, president of AIChE, and Alpha Delta Pi environmental chair. She conducted research synthesizing peptoids for cancer detection, and studied sustainable biotechnology in Belgium. She also interned with Black & Veatch. She will pursue a career in eng’g design. Jason is a computer engineering major at the University of Dayton. A member of the honors program, he exercises his passion for sustainability through the university’s rivers institute and engages in engineering service through the university’s ETHOS Center. After graduation, he plans to begin a career in data science.

Chris is studying biomedical engineering at the University of Michigan, where he has served as activities director for TBP. He has done research at the Orthopaedic Robotics Lab at the Univ. of Pittsburgh. Chris also volunteers at the UM Health System throughout the school year. After graduation, he plans to attend medical school.

Jimmy is a junior in mechanical engineering at the University of Northwestern. He is currently researching waste water treatment and is competing in the DOE Solar Decathlon. After graduation, he plans on pursuing a career in sustainable energy.

Humberto is a mechanical engineering student at Brigham Young University. He is UT B Chapter service committee co-chair and SHPE chapter president. He works as a TA in statics & dynamics and assisted in developing carbon nanotube applications. He interned at Purdue Univ. researching energetic materials and will attend grad school in renewable energy.

Mikaela is majoring in chemical engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is OXE Alpha chapter secretary, AICHE member, and plays the flute in one of the university bands. Mikaela will be doing research involving polymers and catalysts. She enjoys swimming, reading a ton of books, and is currently interested in pursuing graduate school.

He has assisted a professor on trips to El Salvador and to Guatemala, in implementing and improving a medical device for developing nations. After graduation, he aspires to go into a career in global health to work to bring health equity for all nations.

He served as social and lecture chair for the Architectural Engineering Institute, worked as a tutor and TA, and remains an active member in Chi Epsilon and Sigma Delta Pi. Alexandre is studying aeronautical engineering at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University-Prescott. He is a root cause failure analyst at Failure Analysis Service Technology, Inc., while being a full-time student. He is also aerodynamics lead on a campus team that is building an RV-12 kit aircraft. After graduation, he plans to pursue a reseach & development career in the field of aeronautics.

Shohini is studying biomedical engineering and computer science at Johns Hopkins University. She is involved with bioinformatics research, club soccer, tutoring elementary school students, and the Hopkins medical device network. She interned at Stryker Orthopaedics and Appian Corp., will complete an MS in computer science, and work at the intersection of biomedical eng’g & computer science.

Melissa is a mechanical engineering major at Georgia Tech, with a minor in economics. She is GA Alpha Chapter president and also served as director of initiate programs. She is a Div. I athlete on the Tech cross country and track & field teams, and part of the student athlete advisory board. With internship experience at Bosch and BP, Melissa will go straight into industry.

William is majoring in honors mechanical engineering with minors in reliability & maintainability eng’g and business administration at the University of Tennessee. He is Kappa Tau chapter president of Phi Gamma Delta and chapter president of Mortar Board. William was an intern at WestRock, a co-op at BMW Manufacturing Co., and an intern at ExxonMobil. He plans to pursue a MS or MBA.

Nikki is a mechanical engineering student at Sacramento State University. She aspires to work in the aerospace industry and advance technology to discover the unknown. Nikki has a passion for children and hopes to use her engineering knowledge to help children across the world. She plans to continue her quest for knowledge by pursuing her master’s and Ph.D. degrees.

Lucas is a mechanical engineering major with minors in international management and German. He is MI Theta Chapter treasurer and president of robotics association at Oakland University. He is interning at Brose; helping validate and develop electric motors for various functions in cars. His plans include a master’s in mechatronic eng’g, a job in the auto industry, and travelling the world.

He has interned for two summers designing avionics hardware & software and is now an intern at Dynetics, Inc. After graduation, Mark will pursue a master’s while working at an aerospace company.

Matthew is a mechanical engineering major at Brigham Young University. He works for New Vistas, LLC, developing technologies for self-sustaining smart-home communities. He serves with BYU’s chapter of global engineering outreach program designing technologies to aid impoverished communities in Peru. He hopes to gain experience in product development and obtain an MBA.

Garrett is a dual major studying chemical and paper engineering at Western Michigan University. After three summer internships, he found his passion within the industrial workplace as a process engineer. He hopes to get an entry level job within a specialty paper company and to be actively involved with new product development and trials. He also hopes to get his MBA after graduation.

Josh is studying electrical engineering at Ohio Northern University, with minors in computer science and applied mathematics. He is IEEE chapter treasurer and is involved with the robotics football team. He is interested in community involvement and participates in several volunteer organizations. Josh completed co-ops at FeneTech and RoviSys, interned at Norplas Industries, and plans to start his career as a systems engineer.

Kehley is studying chemical engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno. She has interned at Olin Chlor Alkali and at FLSmidth. Her love for challenge and process inspires her to work at a manufacturing plant upon graduation. In addition, she is the Nevada students for life president and loves to meet new people.

Vlad is a computer science major at Princeton University. He is NJ Delta Chapter treasurer, member of the Assoc. for Computing Machinery and data science club, an officer for volleyball club, and the intramural sports chair for the Cloister Inn eating club. His research and career interests lie in distributed machine learning. He hopes to pursue graduate studies and work in industry.

Kyle studies electrical engineering at the University of Wyoming. He serves as WY Alpha Chapter vice president of projects and as IEEE chapter secretary at UW. Kyle is researching digital image processing of organic matrix composites as an intern with the Air Force Research Laboratory. Following graduation, he plans to pursue a Ph.D.

Saumya is studying chemical engineering at Barrett, the Honors College at Arizona State University. He conducts research on gold nanoparticles for medical applications and is an AIChE chapter officer. Saumya is interested in pursuing a Ph.D. after graduation and eventually working in industry or teaching at the university level.

Thomas is a 4.0 GPA biomedical engineering student at SUNY Binghamton headed to medical school to become a doctor. He is an Eagle Scout, a volunteer EMT, and vice president AEMB. Thomas participates in biomedical research on a pancreas 3D printing project, which holds the potential to mitigate the symptoms of diabetes. He will use his biomedical background to develop eng’g solutions to real-world problems.

Brentley is studying chemical & biomolecular engineering with a biology minor at North Carolina State University. He is a Park scholar and held leadership roles in both philanthropic and charity organizations. He is a TA and his research interests include protein modification in hyperthermophilic bacteria. Brentley twice interned at LORD Corp. and plans to pursue a chemical eng’g Ph.D.

Christine is a senior studying biomedical engineering at the University of Utah. She works in a biology research lab studying bacterial motility where she analyzes microscopy images. She plans to pursue an master’s degree and go into industry designing medical devices.

Joey is majoring in biomedical engineering with an electrical eng’g minor at the University of Virginia. He is a member of Rodman scholars program, raven society, and Theta Chapter co-service VP of Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity. He plans to pursue a MD and hopes to apply his BME/EE background towards investigating novel treatments for mental health diseases.

Namrah is double majoring in aerospace engineering and chemical eng’g at the University of Arizona. She interned at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center and MIT Lincoln Labs. In addition, Namrah is involved with a campus club working on a hyperloop pod design. After graduation, she plans to pursue a Ph.D. in astronautical eng’g and work further space exploration.

Dayna is an electrical engineer at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute interested in power electronics and electric motor drives & controls. She’s interested in learning more about power and controls theory. After graduating, Dayna will start her career in the renewable energy field, working to help design better, more efficient wind, hydro-electric turbines, or solar panels at the electronics level.

Chimezirim is a mechanical engineering student at Tennessee Technological University. Jacob is studying chemical engineering at the University of California, Santa Barbara, with an emphasis on materials science. He is planning a new research project involving the use of ionic liquids to alter the properties of strongly correlated materials. Following graduation, he plans to pursue a career in either the aerospace or energy sector.

Benjamin is pursuing a degree in robotics engineering at the University of Michigan Dearborn. He serves as MI Iota chapter president. In addition, Benjamin holds a co-op education position with DTE Energy, as well as a Univ. research assistant position. He intends to pursue graduate & doctoral studies and his dream of working in academia.

Trace is a mechanical engineering major at Kansas State University, minoring in Business and Japanese. He plans to use these skills to pursue a career in international business. Trace is a KS Gamma Chapter officer and a research assistant for testing new refrigerants in commercial applications. After graduating, he plans on obtaining his master’s.

Aadil is an aerospace engineering student at The University of Texas at Austin, with a career goal of becoming a NASA astronaut exploring the surface of Mars. He plans to work in the new space industry (SpaceX or Blue Origin) on reducing the cost of manned space travel. Aadil plans to obtain a pilot’s license, a skydiving license to develop aeronautics experience, & start a new life on Mars!

Monica is in the 8-year BS/MD Medstart program at Wayne State University, pursuing a degree in biomedical engineering. Monica is on the executive board for Timmy Global Health. She does research focusing on nerve regeneration using conduits, research on brain development through MRI usage, and psychological studies. Dancing is Monica’s passion and she aspires to be a surgeon.

From Caracas, Venezuela, Eduardo is dual majoring in electrical engineering and computer science & engineering at The University of Toledo. He is involved with engineering organizations such as IEEE, ACM, & Engineers Without Borders, serving in leadership positions in each. Chinonye is a chemical engineering major at Howard University serving as DC Alpha Chapter president. She performed research on nanomaterials, is on the school’s debate team, and is music director for the Catholic campus ministry. She is a two-time Goldman Sachs intern with plans to pursue an MBA. This will enable her to own a company to mitigate poverty through successful engineering.

Ghufran is studying chemical engineering with a Chemistry minor at Texas A&M University at Qatar. He has worked on a number of research projects ranging from optimization of thin-film transistor fabrication to advanced oxidation processes for wastewater treatment. Ghufran intends to pursue a Ph.D. in materials science with a focus on inorganic synthesis.

Chloe is double majoring in electrical engineering and Russian with a Mathematics minor at Brigham Young University-Provo. She is involved in research, leadership in organizations including TBP, HKN and SWE, worked in translation in Moscow, Russia, and as an analog hardware design intern at National Instruments. Chloe plans to pursue a MSEE and a career in analog design.

Jimmy took a year off to work part-time after high school, learn English, and save money to pay for the SATs. He applied to MIT and is now studying mechanical engineering & nuclear engineering, and doing research in Spain, Italy, Mexico, Portugal, & Costa Rica (with 7 academic publications and 1 patent). He will attend Stanford Univ. for grad school with an interest in energy & entrepreneurship.

Taylor majors in mechanical engineering at the University of Dayton, with a human movement biomechanics minor. She completed two co-op rotations with Crown Equipment and three co-op rotations at Midmark Corp. Taylor also completed an undergraduate thesis studying the affect of balance on fall risk in elderly people with dementia.

Bakari is studying electrical engineering at Clarkson University with a power eng’g concentration. He completed an internship in systems eng’g with Iberdrola USA, an internship with GE Power & Water, & research at Rochester Institute of Tech. Bakari serves as Univ. jazz ensemble president and NSBE Chapter vice president. Bakari aspires to pursue a career in the electric power industry.

Landon is a junior in chemical engineering at Brigham Young University. He works in the catalysis lab where he and his fellow researchers develop catalysts for the Fischer-Tropsch process. Landon is working on the fixed bed reactor in the lab. He hopes to work in the chemical engineering industry and then pursue an MBA.

Dan is studying electrical engineering at the University of South Alabama. He is completing his third co-op semester with Alabama Power, where he has worked with protection & control field services. Dan will serve as AL Epsilon Chapter cataloger and plans on attending grad school after obtaining his undergrad degree.

Robert is a senior undergraduate pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering at Saint Louis University in Missouri. He is working with Mark McQuilling, Ph.D., to further research on shock wave-boundary layer interactions in supersonic fluid flow. After graduation, he intends to pursue a career in research and design.

Nathaniel is majoring in chemical engineering with a business strategy minor at Brigham Young University. He is a David Weidman scholar, a heritage scholar, and UT Beta Chapter alumni relations manager. Nathaniel interned with the global manufacturing planning group at ExxonMobil Chemical, speaks fluent Malay, is a church volunteer interpreter, & plans to pursue a career in the energy industry.

Daniel is a mechanical engineering major at Brigham Young University where he has tutored multiple semesters for courses in materials and dynamics. He interned at Autoliv, a world leader in airbag design & lean production. He enjoys learning about thermodynamics and fluid mechanics, and plans to pursue a master’s degree in aerospace and jet engine design.

Paulo is pursuing a chemical engineering degree with a nanoscience/nanotech minor at Florida Institute of Technology. He demonstrates his leadership skills through involvement with organizations: SHPE, SGA, TBP, and LASA. He interned in the energy field, plastics industry, and performed nanotechnology research. Paulo plans to start his career as a P.E. and enroll in graduate school.

In his free time, Matt enjoys participating in intramural sports such as beach volleyball, flag football, and soccer.

Morgan is a chemical engineering student at the University of Arizona minoring in systems & industrial eng’g, Spanish, mathematics, and chemistry. She was AZ Alpha Chapter vice president for two years. She interned at Valero, Araca Inc., and Desert Whale Jojoba Co. and worked on research building an Archimedes Screw for the ARID raceway. She plans to pursue a career in the quality eng’g industry.

She plans to pursue a career in R&D.

Kevin is a chemical engineering student at the University of Kansas. He performed research at Iowa State Univ., Univ. of South Carolina, and MIT. Kevin served as KS Alpha Chapter vice president and as Electrochemical Society chapter co-founder & vice president. A member of Phi Beta Kappa and a 2016 Goldwater Scholar, he plans to research electrochemical eng’g processes in pursuit of a Ph.D.

Ava is a chemical engineering major with a certificate in biopharmaceutical eng’g at the University of Kentucky. She researches the controlled release of antioxidants for topical cosmeceutical applications. She is Omega Chi Epsilon chapter president and women’s debate institute board of directors member. David is studying biomedical engineering at Wayne State University, with a computer science minor. He’s served as MI Epsilon Chapter vice president & recording secretary. He received an undergrad research & creative projects award in optical imaging focused on diagnostic methods for skin pathologies. David plans to develop new technologies for the advancement of healthcare & medicine.

Luke is majoring in mechanical engineering at Louisiana Tech University. He conducts NASA-funded biomaterials research, is a NAE grand challenge scholars program apprentice, and is involved in LaTech’s engineering & science assoc. He participated in an REU at UPenn and interned at GE for two summers. He will pursue a Ph.D. in biomedical eng’g or enter the healthcare industry.

He also works at MSU with a graduate group developing hybrid rocket fuels. Johnie is a 2016 Goldwater Scholar. He plans to pursue a graduate degree in astronautics.

Andrew is majoring in mechanical engineering and mathematics at Southern Methodist University. He is Engineers Without Borders project co-lead: “water the world: from SMU to Bolivia,” which provides clean water for the community of Llojlla Grande. After graduation, Andrew will continue his work in developing nations and pursue a master’s degree focusing in renewable energy.

Matthew is pursuing two bachelors, aerospace engineer and software engineering, at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Prescott. He is an AZ Delta chapter founding member and acting vice president. In three summers, he worked for Sikorsky Aircraft, Garmin AT, and RockwellCollins. Matthew would like to one day develop command & control systems for spacecraft.

His research interests are artificial organs, tissue engineering, and prostheses. After graduation, he will pursue an M.D./Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, studying one his research interests above. Myles is studying biomedical engineering at the University at Buffalo, the State Univ. of New York. He is a TA for the UB gifted math program. Upon graduation, he wishes to pursue a master’s degree in biomedical eng’g, and then a doctor of medicine degree. Ultimately, he intends to specialize in translational medicine and bridge the gap between eng’g and the clinical sciences.

Maria is studying chemical engineering at the New Mexico Institute of Mining & Technology. She has been involved in wide range of projects including explosive engineering research & veterinary science. She also volunteers at local elementary and middle schools mentoring students for robotics competitions. Maria plans on pursuing a master’s in bio-medical engineering.

Karan is an electrical & computer engineering and Physics double major at the University of Rochester. Passionate about analytical and algorithmic problem solving, he is actively involved in research with professors, teaching assistantships, and with rowing, club tennis and soccer teams. He is active with Sigma Phi Epsilon frat, is a campus financial aid ambassador, and plans to pursue graduate studies.

She interned with AqUV and Meyer Borgman Johnson and enjoys tutoring engineering. Megan would like to teach, but she plans on getting experience in the field first.

Rena is an environmental engineering major at the University of Minnesota. She is active in SWE, Chi Epsilon, and as an officer of APWA and ASCE. Rena interned with Barr Engineering, the City of Bloomington (MN), and the USDA in the areas of soil science & water resources. She hopes to earn her P.E. license, continue involvement in professional societies, and work as a consultant.

Makena is a civil engineering major and sustainability minor at Santa Clara University. She is chapter cofounder and Food Recovery Network president, which donated +9,000lbs of food to those in need in San Jose. She will travel to Kolkata, India, to intern for the Assoc. for Social & Environ. Development, working to conduct an impact study and enhance biodiversity education.

He is a member of an NSF project designing a heat rejection system integrating plants as a sustainable alternative to industrial cooling towers. Mitchell will pursue graduate studies focusing on pollutant dispersion or green design.

He plans on pursuing a Ph.D. and then becoming a professor in order to help young students develop a love for electrical engineering and for learning.

Sarah is studying chemical engineering and sociology at Columbia University. She is Engineers Without Borders’ Morocco water project manager and an undergraduate researcher studying protein engineering. She was honored as a Sheldon E. Isakoff Scholar and an Amgen Scholar at UC Berkeley. Following graduation, she plans to pursue a Ph.D. and study bioeng’g & synthetic biology.

Derek is studying mechanical engineering at Lehigh University. He plans on obtaining his professional engineering license after graduation, with consulting as his long-term plan. He is interning at Lutron Electronics in new product development – a field in which he hopes to work. Derek is determined to live his life for his Savior, Jesus Christ.

He is a member of the co-op education program, which has given him the opportunity to have four internships at three different companies. He recently returned from a semester abroad in Budapest, Hungary. Michael plans to graduate with his bachelor’s and a master’s in eng’g management.

Julia maintains involvement with AIChE, Michigan Tech Club Rowing athletics, Habitat for Humanity, and United Way. She held numerous internship positions with the Dow Chemical Co. & GM and will acareer in the agricultural chemicals or automotive industry.

Major is a rising senior in civil engineering at Northwestern University, double majoring in environmental science and architecture engineering and design certificate. She is most passionate about green building and sustainable city development. Upon graduation, she plans to pursue a master’s and a career in the building industry.

Allen is a biomedical engineering major at Tulane University. He is involved in a computational modeling project involving tendon healing. Allen has held officer positions in the university Karate & Aikido clubs and is a TBP LA Beta Chapter officer. He enjoys tutoring and volunteering as a martial arts teaching assistant at a local elementary school. After graduation, he plans to enroll in medical school to pursue a surgical specialty.
