Eligibility:

Coaches are cautioned to ensure that athletes are entered in the appropriate categories. Skiers must have a valid CCC or National Ski Association Race License. SMDLs or regional/state licenses are not permitted at this event. CCUNC eligibility is limited to Canadian College and University students enrolled in a minimum of 3 courses per semester. CCUNC eligibility forms are available on our website. Completed eligibility forms must be in the hands of the CCC DEM by March 14.

Seeding:

Refer to Technical Package, Section 6.2 for all eligibility rules – www.cccski.com Seeding will be in accordance with specifications stated in the Technical Package for the 2016 Canadian Cross Country Skiing Championships available at www.cccski.com

Team Sprints:

Team sprints will use a format in which teams of 2 skiers ski 3 laps each. All teams must be submitted to the race office on Thursday, March 17 by 6:00 pm, using the form available on the Team Captains page at www.skinationals2016.com or at the race office.

Post-Race Food:

On race days, a hot lunch will be served in the Athlete Lounge. This must be purchased in advance. Post race food fee (covers all race days) is $37.50. Late Entries:

After March 11th, skiers may register for $50/race plus $100/race penalty (max race penalty is $200). Contact race secretary for clarification on late registration fees [email protected] Registration closes March 15th for all racers.

Entry Confirmation:

Confirmation lists will be available on www.zone4.ca. Athletes and coaches are expected to carefully check entries and send all corrections to the competition secretary at [email protected]. Deadline for corrections is March 16th at 4 pm. Race Committee will prepare racer entry/seeding lists for review by the coaches/ team captains during the first 15 minutes of every Team Captains’ meeting.

It is highly recommended that all athletes be represented by a coach/manager at all Team Captains’ meetings. Any changes in the event location or event dates will be posted on the Cross Country Canada website at www.cccski.com and the event website at www.skinationals2016.com Decisions on event cancellation or change of site will be made by CCC one week prior to the event in consultation with the organizing committee and Jury. Clubs will be charged a bib replacement fee of $50 for each competitor who does not return his/her bib at the end of each race.

Waxing Information:

Team waxing requirements must be submitted to competition secretary no later than Feb. 28th.

Waxing facilities – Waxing facilities will be available beginning Thursday March 17. Keys will be available from the race office. Teams wanting access to waxing facilities prior to March 17 should check with the race secretary to make arrangements.

Athlete lounge:

Grey Mountain Room, Mt. McIntyre Recreation Centre Athlete accreditation necessary for entry into athlete lounge. Post race food will be available in athlete lounge. Athlete lounge open daily 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. All personal items must be removed daily.

Trail Passes:

Athletes: Trail passes included in race fees. Athletes must wear accreditation on trails. Coaches: Trail passes (no charge) included in registration. Wear accreditation on trails. Technical Support: Trail passes (no charge) included in registration. Wear accreditation on trails. Visitors: Non-racing trails will be open to recreational skiers throughout the event. A special visitors pass at reduced rates will be available to out of town skiers from Thursday March 17 through Tuesday March 27. Medals:

Will be presented to the top three individuals who are Canadian citizens or landed immigrants, in all classes offered.

Yukon Championships:

Races on Sunday March 20 have been designated Yukon Championships as well as National Championships. The top 3 Yukon athletes in each category will receive Yukon Championship medals.

Merchandise Awards:

The top 6 skiers in all National Championship categories will receive merchandise awards for each individual race. The top 3 CCUNC finishers in each CCUNC eligible race will receive merchandise awards. The top 3 teams in each of the team sprint competitions will receive merchandise awards.

Banquet Information and Registration:

A final banquet and post competition celebration will be held on Saturday March 26 at the Canada Games Centre, adjacent to the ski stadium. The awards presentations for the final day’s races will also be held here. The Boreal Banquet and Bash is an evening of fun and feasting. Doors open at 5:30 pm. There will be hearty meal followed by a number of activities to participate in from dodgeball to ice skating to swimming to dancing. There will also be a photo booth, so be sure to wear your best Yukon formal wear (plaid shirts and jeans!) and don’t forget your swimsuit!
