Executive Summary

CVG: Safe, Smart, Strong The Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport is a vital component of our region’s economic health and one of the area’s greatest assets. It is an award-winning, multi-billion dollar transportation asset that showcases and promotes the economic well-being, strength and vibrancy of the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky region on a national and global stage.

We are honored to report that CVG continues to make progress as we execute on our strategic plan and deliver results. They include operating a Safe, Smart, Strong aviation-based business. We are excited to report that we have been recognized internationally for our efforts. Safe Safety and security are the top priorities of the operations at CVG both for our passengers and airport partners. The airport earned the highest safety rating a commercial airport can receive from the Federal Aviation Administration in its annual review, and remains the only U.S. airport to be fully Safety Act certified. The team at CVG continues to meet or exceed standards in safety and security as we strive for operational excellence. We are proud of our team every day for their hard work and dedication to safe operations. Smart As a result of the hard work of the entire airport team and our relentless focus on customer service, CVG was once again named Best Regional Airport in North America—for the fifth consecutive year. This unprecedented global recognition underscores CVG’s proven track record of excellence. While we are humbled by this honor yet again, we believe we can accomplish even more as we move forward—more flights, more customer amenities and supporting more economic growth for our region. Strong Positive trends in local enplanements and cargo tonnage are the largest and most consistent since 2007, offering customers more flight options and bolstering the economic vitality of our region.

CVGairport.com | 2015 Community Report

CVG now provides nonstop service to 57 airports, including 38 of the top 40 U.S. markets, with approximately 170 peak day departures, more than any other airport in the Tri-State region. Our new airline partners Frontier, Allegiant, Ultimate Air Shuttle and BransonAir Express have enjoyed early success at CVG, which has led to additional flights to more destinations for our customers. In order to cultivate more flights to more destinations, landing fees at CVG have decreased 30% from $3.97 to $2.75 for calendar years 2014 and 2015. We accomplished this through prudent fiscal management that provides stability for all carriers. Air cargo is a significant part of CVG’s growth, resulting in more jobs and investment in our community. The airport is currently the 9th-largest in North America in terms of cargo tonnage. On behalf of the entire team of employees and our partner companies at CVG, please know we consider it an honor to serve the entire region. We thank you for your continued support as we all work to build on our success. Wm. T. (Bill) Robinson III

CUSTOMER SERVICE More innovation, dedicated employees, a better experience

We continually look for ways to improve all areas of customer service for our passengers. From new technology to parking amenities, we have recently introduced several new options to meet the needs of today’s travelers. To help passengers better plan their time, CVG has implemented BlipTrack technology, which provides real-time information on activity levels at the security checkpoint. This added benefit enables passengers and the airport to better anticipate wait times and to proactively adjust their plans. As one of the first airports to implement TSA Pre-Check, we have decreased wait times by one-third and have eased anxieties while peak passenger volumes have doubled. The airport website, CVGairport.com, adds the ability to view estimated wait times for TSA security clearance. The airport website also includes foreign language translation with the ability to view airport information in 80 different languages. We have also introduced several new parking amenities, including courtesy golf-cart shuttle service for passengers in the Terminal Garage and complimentary electric vehicle charging stations in both the Terminal Garage and ValuPark lot. In addition, CVG now offers reserved premium parking options for customers who prefer to guarantee a spot in the Terminal Garage.

CVG has been named Best Regional Airport in North America for five consecutive years by SkyTrax.

All of this would not be available to our passengers were it not for the outstanding team of dedicated employees at CVG, such as Valarie Teague, who was recognized this year by the Tourism Council of Greater Cincinnati with the Rose Award. This regional award honors the very best front line and service individuals who provide excellence beyond the normal call of duty for visitors to Greater Cincinnati. Valarie, who has helped customers at CVG for more than 27 years, is a wonderful example of the focus CVG places on exceptional customer service.

COMMUNITY Working together to make a difference

Just as our team is focused on delivering great customer service, the airport community values our strong ties to the people and organizations in our region who make a difference and make the quality of life in our area rich, engaging and rewarding.

CVG has partnered with the American Heart Association and Medpace to create “Fit to Fly” walking paths in both concourses and baggage claim, enabling travelers to monitor and track their progress.

Two USO lounges are available for service men and women to provide them with a relaxing environment to rest or recharge. Complimentary refreshments and other amenities are provided courtesy of the generous support of donors, airport partners, local businesses and community volunteers.

The annual “Plane Pull” sponsored by DHL, Southern Air and CVG has become an employee favorite as teams form to see who can pull a plane the fastest to raise funds for Special Olympics Kentucky.

The team at CVG works to make sure veterans know their service is appreciated with Honor Flights, which are offered to men and women who have served our country in the military. Honor Flight Tri-State flies World War II and Korean War veterans to visit their memorials in Washington, D.C. at no cost. We appreciate the support of all involved who have made these flights particularly special for hundreds of veterans. CVG is also proud to host events such as SOAR (Starting Our Adventure Right), which familiarizes individuals with autism with air travel and airports. SOAR guests and their family members are offered a guided tour of the airport to include check-in, security, departure gate, aircraft boarding and bag claim.

CARGO Impressive growth, world-wide reach

DHL’s hub experienced double-digit growth in 2013 and 2014. FedEx and Delta Cargo also rely on CVG for their air cargo needs. All played a part in CVG being awarded the Air Cargo Award of Excellence by the International Air Transport Association.

Each night more than 40 flights land and take off at DHL’s hub, carrying millions of pounds of cargo to and from Asia, Europe and Latin America. CVG’s efficient airfield, geographic location and competitive landing fees are among the reasons DHL has chosen CVG for one of its three global super hubs.

CVGairport.com | 2015 Community Report

To keep up with demand, DHL is expanding yet again with a $108 million investment at its CVG hub, driven by the rise in e-commerce. The project, which is expected to be completed in 2016, will add more capacity, more warehouse space and approximately 50 new jobs to its existing base of 2,300. All of this is in addition to another $105 million that DHL has invested over the last several years.
