2011 Taiwan Teddy Bear Show & Creative Awards Welcome to Taiwan! The 2011 Taiwan Teddy Bear Show & Creative Awards, organized by Taiwan Teddy Bear Association with the program supervised by the Taiwan Council for Cultural Affairs, provides teddy bear artists, bear makers and teddy bear manufacture’s a great opportunity to capture the most prestigious accolades in the teddy bear world. During our 8th teddy bear show, we will have a teddy bear making demonstration and a special program. Application 2011 Taiwan Teddy Bear Show & Creative Awards Entry information is now available at TWTBA web site, URL：www.twtba.org.tw. We are now accepting submissions. Please read all rules and conditions and submit all forms to participate in this event. (All Entries must be received by October 7th, 2011) 

Entry Fee for exhibition/sale table: 1. Personal Artist / N.P.O.：USD 130 (with 1 table / 2 chairs) 2. Company / Manufacture：USD 210 (with 2 tables / 4 chairs)



Contest Entry Fee: 1. USD 25 per contest bear. 2. USD 13 for second contest bear and above (each). 3. USD 25 per Return/Mail back nominee’s bear for the register shipping fee. Exhibition table: one table size 180(W) x 75 (D) (Unit in cm);with two chairs, display name card, exhibition ID card, red tablecloth (you can bring your own tablecloth). Please use our official application form. Fill out each entry form or print form completely. Any contest entry form that is not signed or accompanied by an entry fee will be invalid and not viewed by the judges. A separate entry form must be filled out for each bear entered. Limited one bear per entry form. If you cannot print the forms from our website, please contact our TWTBA office and we will mail or fax the forms to you. Deadline for submitting forms is October 7th, 2011. Up to this date all necessary documents must have reached the TWTBA office. All applications completed in English type or written in block letters. Payment for overseas artist and store can be made preferably by bank transaction in USD currency, before October 7th, 2011 (we also accept credit card payments). The fee is non-refundable. Fees are applied to our costs of show place, publicity and administration costs. Contest Rules  



There are 6 categories for all participators to enter, as well as categories for overseas artists and manufactures. No artist’s name/tag on any bear entered into the competition. Process (1) Simply go to TWTBA web site at www.twtba.org.tw , and submit the Competition Entry Form within 3 photos in 500dpi *500dpi jpeg file by E-mail or traditional photo of size 4x6 inches (Face, full frontal and back of bear). Or, use Email: [email protected] / Email: [email protected] , to send the entry form. Photos must be plain background and they will not be returned. Process (2) The TWTBA Int'l judges will rule in all disputes. The committee's final decision will be the final score for this competition. Nominees will be announced on October 28th, 2011 at TWTBA web site and will be notified by E-mail or our overseas coordinator Ms. Lynette Kennedy. Process (3) Three nominees in each category and three nominated bears will be exhibited at TWTBA web site in November 1st~November 15th for public online voting. Process (4) All 30 nominee’s teddy bears submit and viewing by the TWTBA Int'l judges for second time judging on November 20th, 2011. The winners will be announced at 4PM. (Note: public online voting in 10% and TWTBA Int'l Committee 90%) The winners will be announced at a show on November 20th, 2011, and all the award-winning bears will be displayed in the next issue of the Taiwan Teddy Bear Association’s web site and magazine “Bear Focus”. joining a competition is a wonderful means to promote your work. Nominee’s submitting teddy bears for the contest at the show must hand in all bear/s between 09:30AM~10:30AM (Sunday) (November 20th, 2011). The winners will be announced at 4PM.【Annex 2】Competition Entry Form. 

Contest bear must be the original artist’s own design and all fees, both for table display and competition are non-refundable. Artists agree that the TWTBA can use these photographs on TWTBA web site and TWTBA “Bear Focus” magazine. All Competition Entry Form must be received by October 7th, 2011. Definition of Terms

A Single miniature bear under 15 cm

Under 5.9" (15cm), undressed or dressed, artist bears or teddy bears in their original form, material selection is your choice.

Single dressed bear more than 15 cm and B over

From 5.9" (15cm) and above, dressed, artist bears or teddy bears in their original form, material selection is your choice.

From 5.9" (15cm) and above, undressed, Single undressed bear more than 15 cm and artist bears or teddy bears in their original C over form, material selection is your choice. No bow, collar, and decoration.

Tableaux, a group of two or more bears D dressed or undressed; within background

Tableaux. A group of two/a pair or more bears dressed or undressed, within a set background or props, small furniture. The overall size of the completed piece must not exceed 55 W x 55L x 55 H (Unit in cm).

E Mix materials (single bear) under 55 cm

Under 22" (55cm), undressed or dressed, Not made by the traditional Mohair/Alpaca material. Single bear within cotton cloth, plush, knitting wool, paper, wood, metal, pottery, glass, plastics, or other mix materials.

F Single Animal under 55 cm

Under 22" (55cm), undressed or dressed, made by the traditional Mohair/Alpaca or plush material. Dressed or undressed will fine.

Measurements Measure the bear standing. Measure in a straight line from the top of the head to the surface on which the bear is standing. Bent leg bears should be measured in the sitting position. Bears on all fours should be measured from the tip of the nose to the bottom of the extended hind leg. (A standing position)

Eligibility  



This contest is open to teddy bear artists from any country. You may submit as many entries as you wish in each category, but only one entry from any one artist or manufacturer can be nominated in any one category. However, an artist may receive nominations for both an individual entry and collaboration within the same category. Any substantial changes in design, costume, materials, or retail price from the original entry are grounds for disqualification of the entry. Contest must remain on exhibit until 5PM on November 20th, 2011.

Judging Criteria   

A panel of TWTBA Int'l judges will award entries points based on: Originality; Innovation; Skills; Quality of Construction; Overall Anatomical Appearance and Collectability Prize: 1 Grand prize for each category.
