I use a curriculum (and I am certified in it) called Yoga Calm (website is yogacalm.org), that is designed for children, and is able to adapt to different ages. Children not only gain physical skills in flexibility, strength, and balance, but they experience teamwork, leadership (they help me teach), calmness, self-confidence, and improved focus and attention. Grade 5 Shannon Schroeder. Help get your 5th grader ready for the Science MSP. This club will explore the properties of water through a fun, hands-on, project based approach to encourage student problem solving and team building. We will compliment and reinforce school-day learning. Students will use the scientific method to document their predictions, observations and results in their own Science Journal. During each session we will perform science experiments in small groups of 2 to 4 students. The informal setting and small class size provides an opportunity for an interactive and in-depth science learning experience. Shannon Schroeder holds a Masters degree in Environmental Science and an enthusiasm for engaging youth in science. Coaches, Coaches, Coaches! It’s never been more important! Families,

community, and individuals joining together for our young people. In order to be successful, youth sports programs need caring, compassionate adults who are willing to devote some of their limited time to the kids. You don’t have to be an expert on the sport of choice! We have lots of helpful resources, including people that are willing to help you help our kids enjoy themselves. This is quality time for our young people. They are practicing physical and mental skills, interacting with their peers and adults in a healthy atmosphere and learning the ability to compete towards a goal as part of a team and as an individual. Call Joe at Parks and Rec, (360) 731-1938, for more information on this valuable opportunity.
