Your step-by-step bonus allocation guide Use MAX Review on mysunlife.ca/Purolator to allocate your bonus earnings to PuroPension.

The MAX Review period will take place between March 7, 2016 and March 17, 2016.

You can get the most from your bonus by depositing part or all of the bonus earnings directly to your Group Registered Retirement Savings Plan (GRRSP) through Sun Life Financial. Not enrolled in the GRRSP? No problem! You can use MAX Review, your easy, online financial checkup, to both enrol in the GRRSP and allocate your bonus, all in one convenient sitting. Before getting started, you will want to have a few things available: • your Sun Life Financial access ID and password (instructions follow, if you don’t have these) • your bonus amount (included in your AIP letter provided by your manager) • your GRRSP contribution limit Now that you have all of the required information, let’s get started. Remember, you can choose to do any of the steps below, or ask for help by calling Sun Life Financial’s Customer Care Centre at 1-866-881-0583 any business day from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET.

Step 1 – Sign in to your account with Sun Life Financial To access your account online, sign in to Sun Life Financial’s Plan Member Services website, mysunlife.ca/Purolator, using your access ID and password. Don’t have an access ID or password? Go to mysunlife.ca/Purolator and select the Register link. You will need your account number (see your Welcome letter from when you first joined the plan or the top right-hand corner of your last Sun Life Financial statement for this number) and your date of birth. • Forgot your access ID? Select Forgot my access ID? • Forgot your password? Select Forgot my password?

On the Home page, under my financial future, you will see a list of the accounts you hold with Sun Life Financial including your GRRSP if you’re already enrolled.

Step 2 – Begin MAX Review • From the Home page, select the MAX Review banner.

• Welcome to MAX! Select Start to begin your review, which will include options to enrol in the GRRSP and to allocate your bonus.

Step 3 – Your products • If you aren’t enrolled in the GRRSP (remember, you need to be enrolled in the GRRSP to allocate your bonus to PuroPension), you can add the GRRSP to your plan. Select the GRRSP and click add selected products. If you aren’t enrolled in the Spousal RRSP your spouse will need to complete the spousal RRSP enrolment form and send it to [email protected].

Step 4 – If you are adding the GRRSP to your plan • Ensure you agree to the plan terms and conditions by selecting I agree, then click and Save to continue.

Step 5 – Choose to allocate your bonus Whether you’ve previously enrolled in the GRRSP or have recently enrolled through Step 4 above, you are now able to save your bonus. • Select Edit to contribute to the GRRSP.

Step 6 – Select your bonus amount • This screen is where you enter the percentage of your bonus you wish to contribute to the GRRSP, spousal RRSP and/or take as taxable cash (direct deposit). Taxable cash means the bonus would be paid to you in cash through direct deposit, minus the applicable taxes. The percentages you allocate to each of these three options must add up to 100%. For example, you can put 50% in your GRRSP, 25% in your spousal RRSP and take 25% in taxable cash (direct deposit).

– Select your bonus amount

• Any percentage of your bonus you do not allocate to your GRRSP or spousal RRSP will be paid out to you in cash via direct deposit, less the applicable tax deductions. • Select Continue to proceed.

Please note that your bonus will be subject to Canada Pension Plan/Quebec Pension Plan and Employment Insurance deductions, even if you invest them directly in your PuroPension GRRSP or spousal RRSP. This means the actual amount you receive will be reduced depending on your personal CPP/QPP payments and EI premiums. It is your responsibility to make sure you have enough RRSP contribution room. Your employer is not responsible for any penalties in the case of over contribution. You can find out how much contribution room you have by reviewing your last year’s Notice of Assessment from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).

Step 7 – Review your investment notifications • Now that you’ve allocated your bonus, why not take this opportunity to review your investment notifications? • You can complete the Asset allocation tool to determine what type of investor you are. Once you save your personal score, the tool will help you manage any future changes you make to your investment selections. • Select Next to continue. • If you’ve chosen to update your investments, follow the on-screen instructions.

Step 8 – Name your beneficiary • If applicable, you may be prompted to name or review your beneficiary. Designate a beneficiary to ensure the assets in your account are distributed according to your wishes in the event of your death. If you do not designate a beneficiary, the assets in your account will be paid out according to legislative requirements.

Step 9 – Confirm and submit • Ensure your edits are correct and confirm your choices. • Select Submit. Once you select Submit, a confirmation email will be sent to your email address on file confirming your allocation.

Congratulations! You’re done! Don’t forget to visit PuroNet for information on PuroPension, and review your account on mysunlife.ca/Purolator regularly to ensure you remain on track to achieve your retirement and savings goals.
