LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is an internationally-recognized green building certification system that Cal-Royal Products subscribes to. LEED provides building owners and operators with a framework for identifying and implementing practical and measurable green building design, construction, operations and maintenance solutions. LEED is flexible enough to apply to all building types – commercial as well as residential. It works throughout the building lifecycle – design and construction, operations and maintenance, tenant build out, and significant retrofit. Diverse professionals, including architects, real estate professionals, facility managers, engineers, interior designers, landscape architects, construction managers, lenders and government officials all use LEED to help transform the building environment to sustainability. State and local governments across the country are adopting LEED for public-owned and public-funded buildings. They are also providing financial incentives for building that become LEED certified, by way of discounted or fast track building permits. Federal agencies, including the Departments of Defense, Agriculture, Energy, and State, have LEED initiatives. And LEED projects are in progress in 41 different countries – among these Canada, Brazil, Mexico and India. Here at Cal-Royal Products, “GOING GREEN” is not just a motto or a slogan. We like to walk our talk, that’s why a majority of our products are environmentally friendly. We have required our manufacturers and suppliers to increase their utilization of green materials. We also required them to provide us information on the percentages of recyclable materials that they used in manufacturing our products so you can use this information for various LEED credits. In conjunction with offering environmentally friendly products, we are also giving our valued customers the option to receive their invoices, purchase order confirmations, sales orders, monthly statements and other paper-based information thru e-mail. Achieving LEED certification is a significant accomplishment, and sharing your success encourages others to follow your lead. A LEED-certified project can market itself as truly green by using the LEED logo.
