For Ethernet-based systems For Ethernet-based systems, the PLUSCON data connector range offers solutions both for FO as well as for copper in all common types.

For fieldbuses

For data buses

A number of established fieldbuses also demand a standardized connection. They range from D-SUB connectors with varying numbers of positions to M8/M12 to 7/8" connectors.

For parameterization, one also needs other bus systems which have been established in the office environment, such as Firewire and USB, the connectors of which at Phoenix Contact are of course also suitable for industrial applications.

Industrial Ethernet solutions

Regardless of whether it's Fast Ethernet at 100 Mbps or Gigabit Ethernet – Industrial connectors of CAT 5 and CAT 6 are available for all relevant industrial Ethernet systems. Special connectors for copper and FO were developed for Profinet by Phoenix Contact in cooperation with the PNO, which allow easy cabling with no-tool push-pull locking. In environments having an especially high level of interference, cabling with fiber optics is a good choice. Connectors for all types of fibers are available.

Industrial Ethernet The standardized connector range for Profinet applications, for example, includes RJ45, SCRJ and M12 connectors for data transmission, as well as a connector for the device's power supply.

A special highlight of Ethernet connectors from Phoenix Contact is the QUICKON connection, which allows the data line to be assembled without special crimping tools.

The right connector is available for all types of fiber optics. Regardless of whether they are polymer fibers (POF), HCS or glass fibers. They are naturally also available with IP20 protection, as well as IP67.

Connection solutions for fieldbuses

The fieldbus is here to stay in modern automation. A wide variety of systems are used all over the world. Phoenix Contact offers cabling solutions for all relevant fieldbuses – Both as connectors for free assembly, as well as preassembled cables.

D-SUB based plug connector Special D-SUB connectors are available for the widespread fieldbuses INTERBUS, PROFIBUS and CANopen. In addition to the right shield for maximum EMC protection, they also provide the necessary precautionary measures for the right conductor termination.

7/8" connectors

The M12 circular connector has also established itself with fieldbuses. In addition to connectors for free assembly with various coding, completely preassembled cables are available for all relevant bus systems.

Phoenix Contact has special 7/8" cables and connectors in their range, also for the "Foundation Fieldbus", which is widespread in the USA.

Connection solutions for data buses

Not only fieldbuses and Ethernet require adequate data connectors. Industrial connectors are also required for parameterizing bus devices via laptop, for example, or for the peripheral connection to industrial PCs. For this, Phoenix Contact has robust data connectors for the widespread USB and FireWire interfaces in their range. COMBICON connectors with double connections are good for easily wiring data connections from device to device in the control cabinet. They allow a device to be exchanged without interrupting the data flow to other devices.

USB USB plug connectors The VARIOSUB USB plug connector is available with IP20 as well as IP67 protection. Naturally they offer data rates up to USB 2.0 (480 Mbps).

IP20 data connectors In what is probably the most extensive range of COMBICON printed circuit board connectors, there are also solutions for data cabling in the control cabinet. Especially the connectors with double connections are ideally suited for looping through data lines. Here, you have the choice between three connection systems (screw, spring and IDC) – and all that up to CAT 6.

Sensor/actuator cabling in the IP20 range The COMBICON io product range was specially developed for applications in the IP20 range and allows for the space-saving cabling of sensors and actuators there. Special link connectors even allow for the simple looping through of bus signals.
