Why choose SHAADICOVER – Asian Wedding Insurance? SHAADICOVER – Asian Wedding Insurance offers a range of covers and caters for insured events taking place anywhere in the world with specific geographical exclusions under sections, 9, 12, 13 and 14. For details please see the relevant sections under significant and/or unusual exclusions. Insurance cover is underwritten by AXA Insurance UK plc other than in relation to Section 10 – Legal Expenses insurance which is managed and provided by Arc Legal Assistance Limited and is underwritten by Inter Partner Assistance SA. About this document This document provides details of the key features of the cover provided and any significant exclusions, limitations and conditions of the SHAADICOVER policy. It does not contain the full terms and conditions of your insurance. You can find the full terms and conditions of the product in the policy document. This summary is provided to you for information purposes only and does not form part of your insurance contract. A copy of the full policy wording is available on request.

Features and Benefits We will pay up to the amount stated in your schedule. In the event of a claim, you must provide full details in writing to show that original contractual obligations with suppliers were in place. Arrangements made by telephone will not be acceptable. Section

Cover offered

Cancellation and rearrangement of insured event

any irrecoverable expenses, including rearrangement, incurred as a result of unavoidable and unexpected cancellation or curtailment of the insured event due to a cause beyond your control.

Ceremonial and bridal attire

loss or damage to ceremonial and bridal attire belonging to, or hired by, you or a close relative. Cover starts 3 months before the wedding date and finishes at the end of day of the wedding ceremony other than for hired attire where cover will apply up to 48 hours after the start of the wedding ceremony.

Wedding gifts

loss or damage to wedding gifts for up to 7 days prior to the wedding and up to 24 hours after the wedding whilst being stored by you or a close relative, or in transit.

Wedding ring(s), flowers, attendants gifts and cake

loss or damage to wedding rings for up to 7 days prior to the wedding and up to 24 hours after the reception. For flowers, attendants’ gifts and the wedding cake for up to 36 hours prior to the wedding and up to 24 hours after the wedding whilst being stored by you or a close relative, at the reception or in transit.

Wedding cars

if the private hire firm or individual with whom the transport arrangements have been made fails to meet its/their contractual obligations.

Photography and video

if the professional photographer does not turn up, or the film or negatives are damaged before copies are made, or due to non-development of the original film.

Financial failure of suppliers

the cost of lost deposits or additional costs in arranging alternative equivalent services, following the bankruptcy or liquidation of one of your pre-booked wedding service suppliers.

Personal accident

the amount shown in the benefits schedule for the payment of compensation to you or, where appropriate, your legal representative(s) if you sustain bodily injury caused by external violent and visible means, which solely and independently of any other cause within 12 calendar months from the date of the accident causing the bodily injury which results in your death, permanent total disablement, loss of sight or loss of limb(s). Cover applies to bodily injury occurring on the wedding date or 24 hours before or after the wedding date.

Professional counselling

the amount shown in the benefits schedule for professional counselling that is recommended by a general practitioner for either of the insured couple as a result of the unforeseen, unavoidable and permanent cancellation of the wedding due to the death of either of the insured couple or either of the insured couple electing not to continue with the marriage.

10 Legal expenses

legal costs and expenses incurred by you with our prior agreement when you pursue legal proceedings for compensation and/or damages arising from or out of your injury or death.

11 Wedding stationery

to reimburse you for losses for stationery and printing costs already incurred when the wedding is cancelled and for additional costs above the original budget necessary due to a rearrangement in the event the wedding is cancelled or rearranged within the terms of Section 1 of this policy.

12 Public liability

any claim or series of claims arising from any one event or original cause in respect of your legal liability as a result of accidental injury to third parties or accidental loss of or damage to third party property.

13 Essential documents

the reasonable costs of travel, accommodation and fees you have to pay to reproduce lost documents essential to your wedding abroad (outside the United Kingdom).

loss or damage to the marquee for weddings taking place in the United Kingdom. Your schedule will show if you selected this option.

Pre-existing medical conditions – any ongoing medical condition, or condition which has required medical treatment (including consultations or advice) within the last 12 months. The bride or groom or civil partner deciding not to proceed with the ceremony. Lack of funds other than through redundancy. Overseas occupational postings for members of the armed forces which are known about when the policy is taken out. In the event of a claim an amount will be deducted to reflect previous wear and tear in respect of owned and hired ceremonial and bridal attire. Loss or damage by theft or attempted theft of any bridal or ceremonial attire left in any unattended vehicle, unless it is left in the locked boot or locked glove compartment of a motor vehicle, concealed from view and there is evidence of violent, visible and/or forcible entry. Loss or damage by theft or attempted theft of any wedding rings, flowers, attendants’ gifts or the wedding cake left in any unattended vehicle, unless it is left in the locked boot or locked glove compartment of a motor vehicle, concealed from view and there is evidence of violent, visible and/or forcible entry. Professional counselling provided outside the United Kingdom. Travel and accommodation expenses to attend professional counselling. In the event of a claim if the sum insured is less than the reinstatement cost we will only pay an amount equal to the proportion the sum insured bears to the actual cost of reinstatement. The cost of reinstating the marquee means for hired marquees, the sum insured required by the hirer and for marquees owned by you or someone else, the cost of replacing the marquee at today’s prices. Policy duration Refer to details in the policy schedule and policy wording.

Law applicable condition You and we can choose the law which applies to this policy. We propose that the Law of England and Wales apply. Unless we and you agree otherwise, the Law of England and Wales will apply to this policy.

Making a complaint If you have a complaint about your policy you should contact the agent or AXA office where it was bought. If your complaint relates to a claim on your policy please contact the department dealing with your claim. If we have given you our final response and you are still not satisfied you may be eligible to refer your case to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS). If applicable, you will receive details of how to do this at the appropriate stage of the complaints process.

In respect of Legal Expenses Section 10 Customer Service Our aim is to get it right, first time, every time. If we make a mistake, we will try to put it right straightaway. If you are unhappy with the service that has been provided, you should contact us at the address below. We will always confirm to you, within five working days, that we have received your complaint. Within four weeks you will receive either a final response or an explanation of why the complaint has not been resolved plus an indication of when you will receive a final response. Within eight weeks you will receive a final response or, if this is not possible, a reason for the delay plus an indication of when you will receive a final response.

After eight weeks, if you are unhappy with the delay, you may refer your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service. you can also refer to the Financial Ombudsman Service if you cannot settle your complaint with us.
