The Liverpool Women’s NHS Foundation Trust, delivers around 8,000 babies a year, and pride ourselves on being the hospital of choice for thousands of expectant mothers. Our reputation is built on our progressive approach as we continually strive to enhance the maternity service we deliver to the people of Liverpool and the surrounding areas.

Care designed for you Our private service is led by a team of experienced and exceptional midwives. If you’ve a history of uncomplicated pregnancies, or your current pregnancy has been classed as low risk, then ours is the perfect team to provide your care. Our friendly team of midwives will work with you to put together a care package specific to your own needs, designed to make sure you have the very best pregnancy experience. The following are just some examples of what we can offer: • 3/4D scans • Hotel-style accommodation • Birthing partner can stay, so you can spend your first night as a family together • Appointments at a time and location to suit you • Parent Education

Your very own team of midwives; from bump to baby We know that parents-to-be want to receive their care from people who understand their personal situation and requirements. You will be supported by a small team of midwives, who will monitor you and your baby throughout your pregnancy. They have the expertise and experience ensuring that you can relax throughout your pregnancy. Discretion is something we can offer all of our families. We will ensure you have the space, security and privacy to enjoy this precious time in your life. For this reason we offer private antenatal classes too, to equip you with the information, skills and confidence to deal with labour and birth, and to give your newborn baby the very best start in life. These can be tailored to your own needs. If you’re a first time parent we can teach you everything you need to know about looking after your baby; if you’ve done it all before then we’re happy to provide a refresher course for you.

Expert services on site

Our private maternity services are unique in being able to offer you the reassurance that, in the unlikely event of complications, all of the services and expertise of Liverpool Women’s are under the same roof. For those babies born early, or requiring extra care, immediate access is available to our Level Three Neonatal Unit with an expert paediatric team. This award-winning team was recently the focus of popular Channel 5 series, Miracle Babies.

Ultrasound Scans We recommend that you have two scans during your pregnancy: Early Pregnancy Scan This is an ultrasound scan to estimate when your baby is due. The Anomaly Scan This scan usually occurs between 18 -20 weeks of pregnancy. This scan is designed to check physical development of your baby.

Additional Antenatal Services In addition to your routine antenatal appointments, your team is able to provide many of your other needs. This might include diagnostic growth scans, reassurance scans, and exercise and nutritional support. We’ll be happy to sit down with you to plan out which services you would like to sign up to, and answer any questions you may have. You may also wish to consider the following: The Nuchal Translucency Scan This is an optional screening test to identify the risk of Down's syndrome. A midwife will discuss in detail with you at your booking appointment. Reassurance Scan Performed 7- 40 weeks 3D/4D Scan Recommended 24 - 28 weeks
