AUTUMN TERM Animal Rights, Alcohol and Risk Taking

10 different religion Students will be taught about 10 different new religious movements that have developed and are growing across the world. Teachers should send on average one to two lessons on each religion. Homework should be based on that faith to allow students the opportunity to develop their knowledge on that religion. Students are to complete a project at the end of the unit on a NRM that wasn’t taught during this unit.

Islam (10 lessons with assessment) Students to focus on the principles and main teachings of Islam and the impact of Islam in the 21st century. Teachers should deal with the extremism and radicalisation.

SUMMER TERM A Global World/Prevent

Revision for end of year exam (4- 6 lessons) Focus on revision of previous learning and preparation for end of year exam. Preparation for GCSE RE. (5 lessons) Student should spend time looking at issues such as abortion, contraception, euthanasia, the just war theory and why people believing in God. This will help with the transition in to GCSE RE.
