Publication: X-Post: The Alumni Newsletter The aim of the Newsletter is to keep the XIMB fraternity more widely interested in the development and changes happening on and off campus.

Unnayan The fifth issue of the alumni magazine, Unnayan was released during the Bhubaneswar Sanidhya in October. It relives the journey of the Alma Mater sharing events and traditions over the years.

Interaction between Alumni and the UGC Team XIMB, with its 27 years of excellence has now metamorphosed into a magnanimous university. UGC expert committee made a visit to Xavier University on June 29th 2015 to assess competencies of the students and to understand the journey as a Univeristy from 2013 to 2015. Their visit assumed significance as they assessed the facilities and infrastructure, both academic and non-academic and interacted with the students and senior alumni members.

Grand Home-Coming of the Silver Jubilee PGDM Batch of 1988-90 26th & 29th of December, 2015 had the XIMB campus reverberating, not just because of the chimes of Christmas bells but by the Grand Home-coming of the 1990 batch. They came back to visit the college surprising everyone with their never fading camaraderie and their everlasting friendship. The bigwigs had fun squatting on the lawns & sprawling on the corridors, reliving all the happy moments they shared together on the campus. Not only were the Alumni nostalgic but also the faculty who taught them, the dean…. in short XIMB was filled with an air of nostalgia. The alumni flew from various geographies across the globe.

2nd Convocation 2016

Reunion of RM batch of 2001- 2003 The saga of RM Reunion continued this year with much fervor, inviting on-campus batch of 2001-03 on the 16th - 17th January 2016. The alumni were thrilled to be back. Members of the Alumni committee welcomed everyone, followed by interaction with the Vice-Chancellor and the Faculty. They also interacted with the current batch students and faculty followed by dinner.

Batch Reunion of PGDM 1995-97 The PGDM Batch of 1995-97 had their batch reunion in Goa. The theme was ‘picking the pieces after 18 years’. 35 of them met. Alok Bansal brought back cathartic memories of GDs during placement when he appointed himself as the ‘moderator’ to the ‘discussions’. The batch reminisced about the very first X-pressions and how it grown into a massive ‘X-travaganza’ now. As they contemplated, each of them was struck by the entrepreneurial streak in their batch: Soumendra’s cracking IT start-up in ‘Dev- ops’, Debasmit’s top-rated quant shop, Bansal’s massive franchise for Time coaching, Bobby followed his heart to start tennis academies, Satyadarshi runs an engineering and architecture college, Chak’s marketing start-up, Suraj’s ecommerce venture, Kamal’s rapid strides in power-corridors of Delhi, Manasi’s ascent in the ultra-competitive real-estate brokerage business and Alok Acharya’s social sector consulting firm.

Alumni Meet at London Fr. Paul Fernandes, SJ, Director and Vice-Chancellor, met some of our alumni over dinner at London in November and interacted with them.

Xavier University Bhubaneswar Alumni Association (XUBAA) The word Alma mater is an allegorical Latin phrase where the word alma means “nourishing/kind”, and the word mater “mother”. The alumni is the pride of every premier institution. And the 2016 Convocation batches are particularly special for us as we are privileged to have them as the very first members of the Xavier University Bhubaneswar Alumni Association (XUBAA).
