FAQs

What Can I Do If I Cannot Open the Web Management Page? 1. Open Internet Explorer. Choose Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN settings, and ensure that all check boxes are deselected. 2. Check that the computer IP address is 192.168.3.*. (* is any integer from 2 to 254.) 3. Check that the cables are securely connected to the WS331a. If the problem persists, restore the WS331a to its default settings.

What can I do if I can detect the WLAN of the WS331a but cannot connect to it? When the security lock is in the

position, new connections to the WLAN are not allowed. If this is

the case, unlock the security lock, connect your phone, tablet, or laptop to the WS331a, and lock the security lock.

What Can I Do If the WS331a Cannot Access the Internet through a Wireless Network Adapter Sometimes or If the WLAN Connection Is Unsteady? This is probably because the WS331a has its cables connected loosely, is placed too close to electronic appliances with intensive interference, or is too far from the computer. Verify that: 1. The power and telephone cables are correctly connected to the WS331a. 2. Your computer and the WS331a are far from electric appliances that generate strong magnetic or electric fields, such as microwave ovens, refrigerators, and cordless telephones. 3. The WS331a is in an open area, and there are no obstacles, such as concrete or wooden walls, between the WS331a and computer. 4. The WS331a is close to the computer. 5. The angle between the WS331a and computer is appropriate. Do not use the WS331a during thunderstorms, as the signal strength may be unsteady and the WS331a itself may be damaged due to lightning strikes.

33

Do I need to set a Wi-Fi connection password after using the security lock? Not required. After you lock the security lock, new access to your Wi-Fi network is not allowed. If you set a Wi-Fi connection password, you must enter the password to connect to your Wi-Fi network. When the security lock is locked, your Wi-Fi network is inaccessible to unwanted guests even if the password is cracked.

If I change the Wi-Fi connection password, do I need to unlock the security lock before connecting to my Wi-Fi network? Not required. You only need to enter the new password to connect to your Wi-Fi network.

Can others detect my Wi-Fi network after I lock the security lock? Yes, but they cannot connect to your Wi-Fi network.

I Often Need to Restart the WS331a to Display Web Pages. What Can I Do? Verify the following: 1. Cables are securely connected to WS331a ports. Otherwise, network stability may suffer. 2. Your computer and the WS331a are far from electric appliances that generate strong magnetic or electric fields, such as microwave ovens, refrigerators, and cordless telephones. If the problem persists, contact your Internet Service Provider.

I use the WS331a at home most of the time. Do I need to reconfigure it at home after I use it in the office or hotel? No. The WS331a automatically remembers and recognizes the configuration for an Internet access scenario after it has been used under that scenario. No reconfiguration is required.
