As part of the project, a huge logistics park is being built next to the port, with both dedicated and shared-user warehousing available. Earlier this month, leading retailer Marks & Spencer announced plans to build a major distribution centre at London Gateway. Alan Stewart, CFO, Marks & Spencer, said: “We will reduce the lead times between goods landing in the UK and getting into our stores.”
“The development of the largest logistics park in Europe adjacent to the port is a gamechanging opportunity for shippers to redesign logistics networks to support international trade in today’s dynamic markets.”

French export co-ordinator boosts Scotland team
The Hillebrand Academy is designed to assist staff from across the globe to expand their knowledge and skills so that Hillebrand continue to develop the quality of services we offer to our customers.
Claire Encrenaz has joined us as export co-ordinator, based in-house at one of our customers, Williams Grant & Sons Ltd. Claire, originally from Annecy, France, moved to Scotland last summer after spending five years in Geneva, Switzerland, working for leading global shipping line MSC. “I am very happy to be working within the whisky industry, which is so important to the Scottish economy,” Claire says.
