La norma internacional EN ISO 20471sustituye a su predecesora EN 471 y especifica requisitos para la ropa de protección de alta visibilidad capaz de señalizar visualmente la presencia del usuario. La ropa de alta visibilidad está destinada a hacer visible al usuario con cualquier tipo de luz cuando es visto por conductores de vehículos u otros equipos mecanizados en condiciones de luz diurna y tras ser iluminado por unos faros en la oscuridad. No es aplicable a situaciones de medio y bajo riesgo. Se incluyen requisitos de prestaciones para el color y la retrorreflexión así como relativos a las áreas mínimas y la disposición de los materiales utilizados en la ropa de protección. Además se determinan las propiedades fisiológicas del tejido midiendo la resistencia térmica y la resistencia al vapor de agua en condiciones estacionarias (ensayo de transpirabilidad, EN 31092). La ropa de alta visibilidad está agrupada en tres clases en relación con la evaluación de riesgos. Cada clase debe tener unas superficies mínimas de los materiales constituyentes de la prenda de acuerdo con la siguiente tabla:

La clase de la ropa se determina por la superficie más pequeña de material visible. Todos los lados de las prendas tienen que estar hechos de material alta visibilidad. Para asegurar la visibilidad de todos los lados (360º de visibilidad) es importante que las bandas retrorreflectantes horizontales y el material fluorescente rodeen el torso, las perneras y las mangas. Es por esto que todas nuestras prendas, incluyendo los polos de manga corta, disponen de cintas reflectantes en mangas. La clase puede obtenerse con una sola prenda o con un conjunto de prendas, por ejemplo, un pantalón o una chaqueta con determinada clase pueden clasificarse en una clase mayor si el conjunto cumple el requisito mínimo de área de la zona visible efectiva cuando se lleve la prenda.
UNE EN ISO 20471:2013
The EN ISO 20471 international standard replaces the old EN 471 standard and it specifies all the protective high visibility clothing requirements. The high visibility clothing is destined to make visible the user with any kind of light when the person is seen by drivers or other mechanical equipment in day time and being lighted up by headlights in the darkness. It is not applicable to medium and lower risk situations. This standard contains colour test and retroreflection trial, as well as minimum areas and materials position used in this kind of clothes. In addition, it establishes the fabric physiological properties that it measures thermal resistance and the water vapour in normal conditions (breathable test, EN 31092). The high visibility clothing is divided in three class related to the risk evaluation. Each class must have a minimum area per material according to this table:

The clothing class is determined by the smallest visible material area. All clothes sides must be made by high visibility material. To certain the visibility in all the sides (visibility at 360 degrees) is important that the horizontal reflective tapes and the fluorescent material that enclose torso, legs and sleeves. This is why all our garments, including short sleeved polo shirts, have reflective tapes on sleeves. The class can be obtained by one cloth or a set, for example, some trousers or a jacket which is a determined class can be an upper class if the set accomplishes the minimum area when the user fits the clothes.
