Thank You • Gracias Dear friends, Thank you very much for the weekend celebration honoring the twenty years of my presbyterate. I give thanks to Almighty God who brought me here. I am thankful for all of you who came and celebrated with me; I am filled with gratitude for your generosity, support and friendship. Thank you especially to the Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Women’s Guild members who planned, organized and executed the entire weekend celebration. Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness. Deacon Charlie, thank you for your words at the weekend Masses; they brought together a beautiful and moving reflection on the celebration of our ministry. I can not imagine any better way to celebrate a priesthood anniversary than by celebrating the Sacraments —thank you Belva for the privilege to receive you into the full communion of the Catholic church and to celebrate with you the Sacraments of Confirmation and the Eucharist. To those of you who could not be present, please know that you were with us in spirit. Thank you to all of you friends who continue to help me maintain an hospitable and joyful environment around here, remember that a pastor is only as good as his flock and I sure am blessed by your presence and dedication to La Salette. Gracias especialmente a los miembros del Gremio de Damas Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton que planificaron, organizaron y ejecutaron toda la celebración del fin de semana. A disciple’s prayerful response to God’s blessings! Annual Financial Pledge in Support of our Parish

We are about to end another fiscal year and in order to plan the parish budget for the next fiscal year, we need every household in our parish to make a financial commitment to the church. If you have not filled out your Stewardship of Treasure Form please take one at the back of the church and fill it out to help us prepare the budget for the coming fiscal year. Let us remember that in thanksgiving for God’s blessings, each household at Our Lady of La Salette is asked to take a step to gradually move toward sacrificial giving, giving that is planned, proportionate and sacrificial. We ask you to consider the Biblical tithe as follows: 5% of your income to our parish 1% of your income to the larger Church through the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal 4% of your income to the charities of your choice 1. Determine the level of your present giving. 2. Please refer to the table included with the pledge form and consider taking a step by pledging at the next level (to the right). For example, if you are presently giving 2% to the parish, consider pledging 3% now. 3. Please use your WEEKLY ENVELOPES to make your donations. (If you want help to calculate your percentage, you can speak confidentially with Father Victor Reyes.) Thank you for your generosity.

SOLEMNIDAD DE PENTECOSTES

En la segunda lectura de hoy, San Pablo les recuerda a los Corintios: “Hay diferentes dones, pero el mismo Espíritu; hay diferentes ministerios pero un mismo Señor.” ¿Cómo estoy utilizando yo mis dones para el bien común?

Come Holy Spirit, come into our hearts, inflame all people with the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and all will be reborn. And you will renew the face of the earth. Holy Spirit, we give ourselves to you soul and body. We ask you to give us Your Spirit of Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Knowledge, Piety, and Fear of the Lord. Come, Holy Spirit, Almighty Sanctifier, God of love, who filled the Virgin Mary with grace, who wonderfully changed the hearts of the apostles, who endowed all your martyrs with miraculous courage, come and sanctify us. Enlighten our minds, strengthen our wills, purify our consciences, rectify our judgment, set our hearts on fire, and preserve us from the misfortune of resisting your inspirations. We ask this through Christ our Lord.

In the second reading today, St. Paul reminds the Corinthians, “There are different gifts, but the same Spirit; there are different ministries, but the same Lord.” How am I using my gifts for the common good?

Ven Espíritu Santo, llena los corazones de tus fieles y enciende en nosotros el fuego de tu amor. Envía Señor tu Espíritu y todo será re-creado. Y renovarás la faz de la tierra. Espíritu Santo, nos entregamos a ti en cuerpo y alma. Te pedimos que nos des Tu Espíritu de Sabiduría, Inteligencia, Consejo, Fortaleza, Conocimiento, Piedad, y Temor de Dios. Ven, Espíritu Santo, Santificador Todopoderoso, Dios de amor, quien llenaste de gracia a la Virgen María, quien maravillosamente transformaste los corazones de los apóstoles, quien concediste a tus mártires un valor milagroso, ven y santifícanos. Ilumina nuestras mentes, fortalece nuestra voluntad, purifica nuestras conciencias, rectifica nuestros juicios, enciende tu fuego en nuestros corazones, y líbranos de la desgracia de resistir tu inspiración. Te lo pedimos por Jesucristo nuestro Señor.

As a young person, you have your own way of communicating Jesus’ importance in your life. How will you make Jesus more known to others in your own way this week? Question for adults: Share about times when you felt the power of the Spirit, giving you the right words, giving you insight into a dilemma, or in other ways.

Activities for the week Take these activities to further reflect: • On Pentecost, God poured out upon the world the gift of the Holy Spirit. Gather your family outdoors and point out the force of the wind. Discuss with your family how the Holy Spirit is like a mighty wind. Talk about how the gift of God’s Spirit strengthens your family. End your gathering with a family hug. • Write each of the names of the fruits of the Holy Spirit on a slip of paper (charity, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, generosity, gentleness, faithfulness, modesty, self-control, chastity), and place the papers in a bowl. Each morning this week have the members of the family choose a slip out of the box and make an effort to carry out that behavior throughout the day. In the evening have members return the slip to the bowl, evaluating how they did during the day. • Have a family affirmation time. Each member tells how he or she has seen the power of the Spirit working through another family member, bringing God’s love and forgiveness.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL Our theme this year is BIG HEART FARMS - Where God's Fruit Grows. We will be teaching the children the fruits of the Spirit. MONDAY, JUNE 23 - FRIDAY, JUNE 27 9:00 a.m. - noon We are in need of any farm type decorations - plastic fruit and vegetables, scarecrows, hay bales, etc. We could use donations of snacks: fruit snacks, popcorn (no peanut or wheat products) and juice boxes. We could use a few more adults to help with the nursery. Registration is FREE and forms are in the social hall and church office. THANKS SO MUCH!
