010 was a year of big challenges for Wirtgen China. The unexpected strong surge of machine orders from you, our valued customer, of course made us very happy, but on the other hand stretched our whole organisation here in China to the limits. I’m fully aware, that many of you had to wait for the new Wirtgen, Vögele and Hamm machines longer than expected. We tried our best to overcome this period by supplying bridge machines and renting machines for you from other customers. Nevertheless, some of you were not really served as well as could be expected by Wirtgen China; my sincere apologies to everybody who was affected. At the same time I want to express my greatest thanks to you for bearing with us during this challenging time.

Additionally I’m proud to announce the opening of our new Service Centre East China in Wuhu City. After 5 years successful experience with our Langfang Service Centre, we are now ready to extend this important service to the eastern part of China. We are coming ever closer to you, our valued customer. Last, but not least, it’s Bauma China time again. The 5th Bauma China will be the biggest and most important construction machinery show in Asia and is now on the same level as Bauma, Munich and Conexpo in Las Vegas. I still remember our first steps 10 years ago were we all were surprised by the huge visitor attendance and even more by the high quality of visitors. It was the first time in my career in Asia that I could say, this was really a good and valuable exhibition. Today Bauma China is established as one of the three leading world construction machinery shows. We welcome all of you our valued customers to join us in Shanghai from November 23 – 26. You can find us at booth 136/436 in Hall E2, well protected from cold winds and rain in the well-known cosy atmosphere of the Wirtgen family. Wirtgen China Awarded CNY20 Million Contract For Hamm Compactors China International Water and Electric Corp. has awarded Wirtgen China a contract, worth CNY 20 million, for 24 Hamm Single Drum Compactors to be used on the construction of the dam complex at Upper Atbara in Sudan. The dam complex project is located in eastern Sudan and has a total contract value of USD 838 million US dollars. The project is financed by the government of the Sudan, and the engineering and construction of the complex is scheduled to last about 6 years. his is the largest single project contracted to Chinese companies in Sudan at the moment. The project is composed of two dams. The main functions of which are irrigation, water supply, and power generation.
