Gabriel (manuscript due Fall 2015) Law review article that examines the problem of bogus UCC Article 9 filings made with the intent to harass or defraud; the legislative responses to the problem by various states and issues raised by the responses; a proposal for an appropriate legislative response Empirical study (with A. Morriss and M. Heise) that: 1) examines the patterns of adoption of uniform laws over time, using empirical techniques to look for explanations for the rate of adoption of different laws; and 2) compares the patterns of adoption of uniform laws with a separate collection of common-law changes to determine whether adoption patterns reveal differences in legal culture across states.
