1. The heart of our superior the technology is a patented twin-head "boxer" piston which slides along a single axis. Unlike articulating or oscillating (wobble) mechanisms normally used in compressed air technology, this bi-directional movement along a unique trajectory guarantees no lateral thrust, and therefore no appreciable wear-and-tear, even after 5000 hours of operation. This means longer life for the compressor, no down-times, minimum maintenance service. 2. A big advantage of our patented axial movement of the double-piston mechanism, besides the lack of any appreciable wear-and-tear, is the capability to operate without over-heating: this lack of overheating will enhance the dependability of the product, at the same time it will allow the Gentilin compressor to be installed under cabinets and in closets, saving space which is normally a key-issue in any dental practice. 3. Very quiet motor design. Mounted on both ends of the air-flow are highly-engineered valve plates which isolate and reduce the impact of the sound travel: the compressors of the Gentilin Dental Art range are therefore sensibly more silent than any other equivalent oil-free compressor using the old technology of the articulate pistons or wobble-pistons, and this even without making any use of insonorisation devices. 4. All piston rings are PTFE (teflon) coated, which means made to operate with low-friction movement. These rings therefore are more long-lasting than standard o-rings. 5. Our high-quality aluminum cylinders against which the piston rings slide are protected with a highquality ceramic coating, making each stroke practically friction-free, and therefore extremely quiet. 6. Sophisticated intake particulate filters are meant to do more than simply removing the airborne particles. They provide also for a maximum noise reduction at the very intake of the air flow, so that the noise is rather minimized, also without the need to use insonorisation devices. 7. The mechanism is further cooled by a fan designed to allow maximum rising of air flow, thus keeping the temperature constantly low. 8. Maintenance free. The twin-head design is such that only one spindle and one cylinder are necessary, as well as only half of the usual number of ball bearings. This results in less need of maintenance, which is costly in itself and in the down-times connected. 9. The overall size of the pumping mechanism is truly compact. The design is such that cooling is not an issue, and no additional cooling chambers or air flow paths need to be integrated, drastically reducing the space needed to accommodate all the components. 10. Our technology is no less than 20% more efficient than any other competing mechanisms. The air delivery is larger than it is in any similar pump, and constant in its flow: there is no loss of pressure, resulting in negative downtimes for the doctor or the scientific technician.
WHY DRY AIR ? A quality dryer is an essential equipment for the dentist. Wet air represents not only a hidden danger to expensive air driven instruments, but also a risk to supply moisture with contaminants to the patient. This is why nowadays modern dental compressors are not only oil-free but feature desiccant drying systems, which totally eliminate water with their potential presence of contaminants and corrosion elements. Gentilin desiccant dryer is simple, reliable, long lasting, compact, easy to be maintained and granting low operative costs. It is based on the principle of the alternative air drying system, which gives the important advantage of no power loss during the regeneration process: the regeneration of the desiccant is made during the times of the compressors shut-downs (which are largely over the 50% of the compressor life in any dental surgery). The operational cycle is very simple and effective: 1 - Ambient air enters the compressor through the air inlet filter; 2 - Air is compressed and driven to the cooler; 3 - Due to the cooling, part of the humidity is condensed; 4 - Condensate is collected in the separator and drained off; 5 - Air enters the drying tower of the dryer where a special desiccant removes the remaining humidity; 6 - The now dry, clean and oil-free compressed air is stored in the tank, which has been treated with an internal anti-corrosion and anti-oxidation coating 7 - During the compressor shut-downs the desiccant is automatically "regenerated" by dry air, becoming ready again for a new drying operation. With dryers the only recommended maintenance operation is to replace the desiccant pellets after no less than 2 years or 2 thousand working hours.
