Welcome to the first Cumbria Family Arts Festival organised by Cumbria Family Arts Network. By picking up this booklet you’ve already taken your first step on an incredible journey of discovery this October. Get ready – you’re about to take part in some great art! On the following pages you’ll find details of a wide range of activities for all ages – tots, teens, mums, dads and grandparents, there’s plenty to keep you entertained throughout the week. We’ve linked up a variety of venues which gives you the chance to experience a whole host of new places and try out some new activities. Why not take a few minutes to browse and see what’s on offer? We are sure you’ll find something that’s right up your street. Like the googly eyes on the front? This shows that our offering is part of the national Family Arts Festival and is supported by the Family Arts Campaign. So while you are enjoying a spot of mosaic making in your favourite gallery, someone somewhere in the depths of Cornwall might be doing the very same thing. Cool huh? For those aged 5 and upwards there’s even the chance to gain an Arts Award by completing our Discover booklet when participating in the activities during the festival. Pick up a booklet from one of the venues or ask staff for more information. So what is the Cumbria Family Arts Network? We are a collection of cultural organisations from across Cumbria that are working together to jointly programme and market arts activities for families. Our aim is to increase families’ awareness of the wealth and quality of arts activity in the county and enable more families to participate. The festival is an exciting opportunity for us to celebrate the work of network partners in the County but without you there would be no festival. So off you go and have fun!

We hope you enjoy it.

she definitely isn’t losing her sense of humour. When Bill, who is a girl by the way, realises that Miriam needs help she decides to sort things out – and if that means not going home, telling lies and kidnapping a man in order to mend the past, then that is what she will have to do.
