June 2013 Greetings, It brings me great honor and pleasure that JKA of NM become your host of the 4th JKA/WF America Camp and 5 th Annual JKA/WF America Tournament. Also this year we have a special guest instructor Master Masaaki Ueki who is now the JKA Headquarter shuseki shihan (chief instructor). JKA has over 5 million members in world wide. Master Ueki became shuseki shihan last October 2010. We are very honored to have him in this camp and tournament. Please everyone take this special opportunity to learn JKA Karate from Master Ueki as well as Master Koyama and Master Takashina. On March 11th, 2013, Japan encountered worst natural disasters in recent Japan history. However, despite these disasters Japanese people have been excepting it and live in this situation rather than give up. I believe that Japanese live based on budo spirits that not to give it up, try, try again. We have been studying the same budo through karate. Although Japanese are trying hard to reestablish Japan but they need a lot of help now. Let’s help Japan. Let’s do something for Japan. We are collecting donation for Japan. JKA/WF America is 501 C3 none charitable organization. Your donation will be tax deductable. We as JKA/WF members, have a duty to expand JKA/WF Karate. Fortunately, we have more JKA/WF members participated from Guyana, Mexico, Puerto Rico as well as Panama this year. All of them had to request visa to come to U.S.A. I would like to express my sincerer thanks to these people. Especially from JAK/WF Guyana, despite bad economy and very expensive trip, total of 15 members made this camp & tournament. JKA/WF families are gathering to show JKA/WF karate once again at this camp & tournament. Let us enjoy JKA/WF Karate art together. On behalf of JKA of New Mexico, it is a pleasure to welcome judges, competitors, honored officials, and families to Santa Fe for this tournament. We hope your visit to the oldest city in US Santa Fe, New Mexico and your experiences at this camp and tournament will be both rewarding and memorable. Finally, I would like to thank Genoveva Chavez Community Center, City of Santa Fe, the State of New Mexico Governor, all of JKA New Mexico members and from throughout the country who have dedicated themselves to this JKA/WF America National in Santa Fe. Best wishes and good luck for a successful tournament to all of you.
