Media Guide 2015

Welcome to the Medtronic TC 1 Mile

Dear Friends in the Media, On behalf of the Twin Cities In Motion Board of Directors, Staff and Association Volunteers, welcome to the 10th running of the Medtronic TC 1 Mile. We appreciate your interest in our event and are eager to have you share it with your readers, listeners, and viewers. The Medtronic TC 1 Mile may be a short race — one the USATF Championship men can run in less than four minutes! — but we’re packing a lot into the 1760-yard stretch along our new course on Hennepin Avenue. We’ll host some 2500 runners, 52 Corporate Team Challenge teams, dozens of local racers running for the USATF Minnesota Team Circuit Championship and, of course, the professional runners racing for the USATF 1 Mile Road Championships, a share of the $25,000 prize purse, and a chance at the $10,000 event record bonuses for men and women. We’re also proud to have the race be part of the Bring Back the Mile GP Tour. The event will also feature official Medtronic TC 1 Mile “Cheers” Zones along Hennepin Avenue where happy hour Minneapolitans will cheer on runners. TCM is again hosting the TC 1 Mile Derby, where citizen runners and running fans can win prizes based on the outcome of the professional races. We thank you for your interest in the Medtronic TC 1 Mile. We appreciate the effort you put forth to help share our stories. Sincerely,

Virginia Brophy Achman Executive Director, Twin Cities In Motion
