Finding Items: Our Catalogue Search the stock of all UWS campus libraries and see where to find your item. Or limit to your local campus. * Books *Print journals * DVDs *CDs *Kits * Electronic books * and more

Our Catalogue: viewing search results *Click on the title to see the full record, and the details of copies and where to find them. *Sort by date, Z-A to see most recent material first. *Click on “Request” to reserve items or request them from other campuses.

Finding items on the shelves *Items are on the shelves in “Dewey Number” order. Books have a small label on the spine showing this number. This is called the “shelf mark”. The catalogue tells you what shelf mark your book is at so you can find it on the shelf. *Note: the “Availability” column doesn’t tell you if the item is on the shelf, only if we have it. Look at the next 2 columns

Our Catalogue: My Account *Use your borrower number and PIN number to access My Account. This way you can renew your books on line. *You can reserve and request books online and select a campus to pick them up from. Items can be returned to any campus. *You may renew an item up to 5 times if no one else has reserved it.

*You can have up to 6 reservations at a time. You can also check on any fines you may have accrued ...

Athens accounts • *Your Athens username and password gives you access to almost all of the library’s databases, electronic journals and electronic books, from off campus as well as within the University. (Some resources require a separate password so contact the library if you need access to one of these ). • *An Athens username and password is created automatically for all students when they enrol. Your Athens username and password is emailed to your student email account, so it is important to set this up quickly.

the library website *Use the menu on the left to navigate. *Access to the electronic databases, electronic journals and electronic books is from the e-Resources and Athens page. *A selection of handouts, guides and slides can be found on the Guides and Online Help page. There are more of these on My UWS Library on Moodle.

facebook • *You can access the UWS Library facebook page from the Library website. Or search for us from your own facebook page. • *Click on “Like” to become our friend. • *Our wall is quite light-hearted and is a place where you can interact with us. We also put items of news and information about the library on our wall. • *Use our Apps to access the library resources and the Catalogue, and for links to other places and for library information and help.
