Welcome to our club! The String and Splinter Club is a favorite among locals for its historic and scenic setting at all times of the year. We offer a beautiful location to hold your wedding ceremony, reception, bridal luncheon or rehearsal dinner. A variety of event packages are available and any package can be customized to fit your needs. Our Special Events Director, Executive Chef, and Professional Staff are excited to work with you in providing you and your guests with a memorable experience.

General Information Room Rental A room rental charge is due in order to secure the date of your wedding or event. The room rental charge is non-refundable and does not apply to the Food and Beverage charges on the date of your event. All of our rental packages include inside set up and clean up. Food & Beverage Regulations All Food and Beverage served at the String and Splinter Club must be purchased from and prepared by the String and Splinter Club Professionals, with the exception of a wedding cake.

General Information Contract Guaranteed Number The String and Splinter Club must be notified of the guaranteed attendance seventy-two hours prior to the event. We cannot be held responsible for providing the agreed menu and seating for numbers which exceed the guarantee. In the event the attendance is less than the guarantee, the customer must pay for the guaranteed number.

Bar The North Carolina liquor laws will not permit any beverage to be brought in or taken out of a licensed establishment. The Bars do not sell shots of any kind, nor will it provide alcoholic beverage without ice, with the exception of cordials.

Decorating Please advise us of your intentions to decorate the room(s) for your event. Confetti, rice and birdseed are not permitted inside or outside the clubhouse. If used a cleaning charge of $250.00 will be levied.

Entertainment The String and Splinter Club reserves the right to approve all vendors for your event, such as entertainment, florist, etc. Also, please advise us as to the delivery time of any equipment which is being used at your event. Our Special Events Director will be happy to assist you in arranging your entertainment needs.

Parking All vehicles must be parked in the main lot and/or courtyard. However, additional parking is available in an adjacent lot. You will need to coordinate with our Special Events Director for the use of the adjacent lot.

Security All guests attending an event at The String and Splinter Club must enter through the front entrance. The number of guests and arrival times will be conveyed to our security through our Special Events Director prior to each event.

Liability The String and Splinter Club does not assume any responsibility for the damage or loss of items stored or displayed on club property. Each guest/member is responsible for any damages to club property caused by the guest/member or their guests. Charges for damages shall be billed in the same manner as that in which other club charges are billed. I acknowledge all the general rules and regulations listed in this document. _________________________________

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to be a club member or have a club member sponsor to book my event at your club? You do not have to be a club member or have a club member sponsor in order to book your wedding week event at the String and Splinter Club. You need only to contact our Special Events Director to inquire about the date and process your rental fee payment to secure your event date.

What is the maximum seating capacity? 350 people Courtyard and Patio Outside the Club House 200 people Both Floors Inside the Club House 80 people Main Dining Room Inside the Club House

Is there a minimum that we must meet in order to have our event at your club? There is no required minimum for you to meet in order to hold your event at the String and Splinter Club.

Are there any time constraints on when I can start and end my event? You may start your event at desired time. Each one of our rental packages include a set number of hours. You may extend the time frame on any event with an additional $100 per hour rental fee. Wedding Receptions 5 Hours Rehearsal Dinners 3 Hours After Hours Rehearsal Dinner 2 Hours Bridal Luncheons 2.5 Hours

Do you have an area to hold my Ceremony? We have an outdoor courtyard that can be used as a ceremony venue. There is no additional charge from the String and Splinter to use this space if you are holding your wedding reception at our club. You will however, experience additional fees from your rental company as the String and Splinter Club does not own tents, wood resin folding chairs and additional decorations that you may have seen in some of our event photos.

Do you offer Menu Tastings? We do offer menu tastings and after your 1st draft planning appointment you will have a good idea of the menu items you are interested in. Now that you have a tentative menu you can schedule a menu tasting at anytime, but will need to schedule your tasting at least 1week in advance. Our Executive Chef will prepare your menu for you personally and I will meet with you at the end of the tasting to discuss your likes and dislikes. I will be attending your tasting as well. The Chef and I are both available for private tastings Wednesdays thru Fridays between 2-4pm. The cost of a private tasting is itemized by the pieces you would like to experience. On average to try 2-3 entrees and sides will run $60-$85 depending on number in attendance and your menu selections. 16

Payment Procedures We prefer for all payment transactions to be processed with either personal check or certified check. We will however accept credit card payments with an additional $50 fee per transaction. We honor American Express, Visa, MasterCard and Discover. Your rental fee must be paid in full to secure the date of your event. Once your menu is finalized, 50% of your total billing is due upon receipt. Your food and non-alcoholic beverage balance will be due in full 72 hours prior to your event. Your bar beverage consumption will be processed at the close of your event and must be paid in full within 5 business days of receipt.
