Outdoor Ceremonies Located in the heart of Champlain College, the Courtyard is a beautiful location for your private wedding ceremony. With its medieval-inspired buildings, mature trees, natural gardens and wooden pergola walkway, the ceremony site feels like your own secret garden. Cocktail Reception Steps from the ceremony, the celebration moves to the Riverside Garden. This 3000 square-foot licensed private patio allows plenty of room for guests to enjoy the view of the river. The Ceilie Lounge boasts a full-service oak bar and plenty of occasional seating. Passed hors d’oeuvres and 1 hour of host bar service ensures your guests will enjoy your afternoon cocktail reception. Included in your package, our delicious passed hors d’oeuvres will surely excite the pallet for an exceptional dining experience.

Plated Dinner Menus Your three-course menu includes a salad of your choice followed by an elegantly plated entrée. Select one side vegetable and one side starch to complement your entrée. Policies and Services Planning Services ~ Our experienced Hospitality Coordinators will manage all facility details on your behalf. Your package includes: Initial Planning Consultation (approx. 30 minutes) at time of contract signing Final Planning Session (approx. 2 hrs) 2 - 3 months before your wedding date Additional Consultations available as required, hourly rates will apply On-site facility supervision on your wedding day. Payment Structure ~ To secure your booking, a $1000 deposit is due at time of contract signing. A second deposit of $3000 is due 120 days prior to your wedding date. Third deposit is due 7 days prior to your wedding date, based on anticipated charges. All deposits are non-refundable. Residual charges are due 30 days from the invoice date; outstanding balances are subject to a 1.5% monthly interest charges. Please arrange cheques or money orders for all payments. Prices are subject to change and applicable taxes. Please anticipate a 3-5% price increase from year to year. Decorating Policy ~ Trent University Conference & Hospitality Services will ensure the venue is available by 10am on event day. When possible, we are pleased to offer advanced access to the venue at no extra charge. Clients are responsible for all décor arrangements, including removal. All wedding items are to be removed from the property at the conclusion of the event. Decorating that could result in damage to property, such as attaching items to walls or Trent University signage, is not permitted. Loose items such as glitter, confetti, sequins or rice are not permitted. Fog or bubble machines are not permitted. Charges may apply if additional cleaning services are required following the event. Candles are permitted however all flames must be contained in a glass container. Clients are asked to provide and remove their own event freestanding or staked signage. Entertainment, SOCAN & ReSound ~ Entertainment, band or DJ performances must conclude by 1am. Trent University will apply the appropriate copyright fees to your invoice. Insurance ~ Trent University requires event liability insurance for all events hosted on campus by external clients. We are able to provide event insurance for you for a minimal fee if you require.

Food, Beverage & Gratuity Policy ~ All food and beverage will be provided by Trent University (wedding cake excluded). This includes but is not limited to additions to the menu, chocolate fountains, candy buffets, bottled beverages, pre-event meals and refreshments. Outside alcohol is prohibited on Trent University property. The Riverside Garden, Ceilie Lounge and Great Hall are licensed areas; consumption of alcohol beyond these areas is prohibited. Regulations of the Liquor License Act will be adhered to at all times. Trent University reserves the right to refuse service to guests or close the bar as seen fit. Bar service will conclude no later than 1am. Alcohol is billed based on consumption. A 15% gratuity will be applied to bar charges.
