The Craft Council of Newfoundland and Labrador is a member-based organization that works to maximize the artistic and economic potential of the craft community of the province.

The Quidi Vidi Village Plantation serves as a craft enterprise incubator for emerging artists wishing to pursue careers as professional craftspeople in Newfoundland and Labrador. Visitors to the Plantation are welcome to watch, interact with, and support our craftspeople as they produce and sell unique handmade items in a wide variety of mediums. The Anna Templeton Centre for Craft Art & Design offers a wide range of craft & art classes throughout the year. Each season has a new schedule of adult evening classes & weekend workshops including drawing, dye techniques, embroidery, knitting, oil painting, quilting, rug hooking, sewing, and more. Opportunities abound to learn new techniques, practice skills, and gain inspiration.

A professional staff manages the Council’s operations and delivers on the Council’s mandate. Programs and services include marketing, exhibition, product development, training and communications. The Devon House Craft Centre is open to the public and is the home of the Craft Council’s Shop, Gallery, Clay Studio and administrative offices. It also houses the best selection of fine craft by professional makers from around the province.
