It is thanks to this precision that Franke Water Heating are accredited with the SABS mark SANS 151 as well as ISO 9001 for Quality Management. The Franke geyser is IPX4 rated according to an international standard. This rating classifies the geyser as splash resistant and suitable for installation outside and even be exposed to rain. This means the geyser can be installed where easy access can be gained for maintenance and replacement. Having the geyser outside not only frees up space inside the dwelling but also mitigates water damage caused by plumbing failures.

1. The unit must be bolted to a wall of sufficient strength to support the full weight of the filled geyser. 2. The geyser brackets must be removed from the bottom of the geyser and mounted to the side for horizontal installations. Important Safety Notice

Your Franke Water Heater is designed to produce hot water. Remember that hot water is dangerous so follow the important instructions in these guidelines to avoid accidents.

Use a competent plumber to install your Franke Water Heater In terms of Government notice No.R.1875 of 31 August 1979, no person shall perform the trade of plumbing unless he is a trained plumber or works under the adequate control of a trained plumber or approved competent person. Every installation must comply with SANS 10254: This standard covers requirements for the safe installation of new and replacement fixed electric storage water heaters, complete with all the relevant and applicable safety and hydraulic control units.

Where to find a competent plumber The Plumbing Industry Registration Board (PIRB) controls plumbing practices and registered plumbers can be found on their website www.pirb.co.za.

Maintenance in hard-water areas In areas where hard water may occur, such as in the eastern and southern coastal regions of South Africa, the product lifespan could be reduced due to build-up of scale. Regular Anode inspection should be carried out by a competent plumber every 6 to 12 months depending on the severity of the conditions. Contact the Franke call centre at 0861 432 887 for assistance.

Operating your Franke Water Heater Every Franke Water Heater is supplied with a user manual which contains instructions for the installation of the Franke Water Heater, its use and maintenance, as well as warnings relating to the risk of injury or damage that could arise from its use. The installation must be carried out in accordance with the instruction manual. The user manuals can also be downloaded from the Franke Water Heating website www.frankewhs.co.za.

Product Warranty and the Consumer Protection Act Franke South Africa (Pty) Ltd warrants the product to be of good quality, in good working order and free from all defects for a period of 5 years from the date of installation within the regions of South Africa, Namibia and Botswana. Franke’s liability in terms of the warranty is limited to either repairing or replacing the damaged or defective Franke Water Heater. This warranty is given in addition to any warranty that may apply in terms of the Consumer Protection Act, 2000.
