DISTRICT HEATING District heating is a cost effective source for heating and can often be produced from local energy sources such as waste, biomass and surplus heat from industry. In Europe, Russia, China and other parts of the world, the district heating network is expanding continuously, but Denmark remains the global competence centre when it comes to new technologies, etc. District heating is suitable for heating of houses in urban areas where cogeneration of electricity and heating improves fuel economy significantly. District heating can effectively and safely be pumped out to a large number of users, as it is more profitable to produce electricity and heat together than separately. For all types of heating plants, DESMI has many years of experience in supplying energy efficient pump solutions to match sustainable energy.

Energy efficient and reliable solutions for distribution of heat

DESMI’s programme within vertical in-line centrifugal pumps represents the latest developments, based on more than 150 years of experience in the pump industry. The pumps are characterised by high levels of efficiency and low NPSH values. With their high efficiency levels, the pumps are particularly suitable for district heating, and are available in standard programme solutions for high pressures and temperatures.

DISTRICT COOLING District cooling is a highly cost efficient and environmentally friendly utility service, which provides chilled water from a centralized cooling plant through a network of pipes to multiple residential, industrial and commercial buildings for air conditioning purposes. District cooling is simple and clean. DESMI provides energy efficient pumping solutions both for water intake (e.g. seawater), centralized cooling plants as well as the piping network. The DESMI pump solutions are recognized as being highly energy efficient with low NSPH values. The pumps have a long life cycle and are very easy to maintain. The DESMI centrifugal pump range comprises: • NSL for high pressure and high capacities • DSL for moderate pressure and even larger capacities than NSL • ESL for lower pressure and capacities.

Transporting the cold in fluid-borne cooling systems uses less energy to transport a given amount of cold in relation to air-borne systems. By combining a fluid-borne cold transport system with energy efficient pumps from DESMI, the energy costs for cooling are reduced. Based on many years of experience in the marine world, DESMI pumps demonstrate great resistance to the seawater used as ”free” cold in seawater cooling. Material selection and a high level of efficiency make pumps from DESMI the best choice for seawater & groundwater cooling projects.

WASTE WATER Transport and treatment of waste water are important tasks in a modern society. LAND-BASED SPRINKLER SYSTEMS Transportable pump units The pump and motor come built together in a compact unit that is easy to move. Typically, selfpriming pumps are used. The pump can be combined with electric motor, diesel or gasoline engines including battery and fuel tank. Transportable pump systems can be supplied as explosion-proof. Complete container The complete sprinkler or fire pump system can be supplied mounted in a container with all internal piping leading through to the container wall ready for assembly with the supply line and pressure pipe. Stationary sprinkler pumps with electric motor or diesel engine The complete unit comes on a base plate construction, and as pumps are also designed for diesel operation, you can choose between assembly with electric motor or diesel engine. The pump and motor are built together on the base plate via a flexible coupling. The base plate is well-dimensioned, accurately levelled and ready for quick and easy assembly on site. The complete unit also contains mounted fuel tank and start batteries.

LEISURE INDUSTRY CO2 consumption significantly reduced DESMI has many years of experience in the swimming pool/public baths (aqua parks) industry and to ensure low energy consumption and pumps with high efficiency levels, we have developed new, highly effective, all bronze swimming pool pumps at reasonable prices. Bronze is the best material The choice of all bronze is very deliberate. Bronze is definitely the best material when it comes to pumping chlorinated water. The efficiency remains virtually unchanged throughout the pump’s lifetime, and since it is substantially higher for the new pumps, in many cases, a smaller pump can be utilised, which gives additional savings.
